Like anything in life, it takes a little while to get your feet wet and for you to get acclimated to your surroundings. It’s the same with any type of fantasy sports site; especially that of the daily variety. After my first week of incremental earnings, Week 2 did me right.

With so few teams playing in the NBA playoffs each night, it’s extremely hard to build a roster that you actually like because you almost always seem to end up with a “bum” in your build due to salary constrictions. Boom has been the best place to play NBA DFS, especially since you’re not building rosters. Making a prediction on who out of Russell Westbrook and James Harden will score more points is more fun than having to build a roster with Alex Abrines as a core piece. I think most NBA diehards would pick the former and not the latter.

As for the tournament sizes, they’re also great and definitely a nice change of pace from other DFS formats. For one, they’re a lot smaller. Obviously that means less prize money, but it betters your chances to cash and build your bankroll so you can enter the tournaments with the higher stakes. For me personally, the smaller tournaments are more my speed.

But, as I mentioned in the header, I had a nice week at Boom Fantasy! I played in both MLB and NBA tournaments and happen to take down a $5 tourney for my first GPP win on the site. The easiest way to explain my thought process behind the victory is simply using the information Boom gives us and coupled that with my own knowledge. The key to my victory was knowing the situation of each game and which players were going to be needed the most in that particular game.

So as I continue to play at Boom and my bankroll continues to grow, I’ll get a better feel on the intensity of the higher stakes tournaments they have to offer. I’m also a HUGE fan of the “Jackpot” they have.  Especially since I’ve played in primarily smaller buy-in GPPs, I can still hit it big if I’m able to predict all eight questions correctly.


Boom is only going to continue to grow bigger and the community is competition is only getting stiffer. Even take some time off the daily grind of the other major DFS sites and give Boom a go. Download the app YESTERDAY. It’s worth every penny.
