NBA Best Bets Today, 12/31: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Wednesday
Meatloaf for the third day in a row! The Philadelphia 76ers needed overtime, but they cleared the -1.5 spread. It was thanks to V.J. Edgecombe’s game-winning three-point field goal. He sank it like a vet, and the 76ers are starting to come together. The Los Angeles Clippers easily cleared their 117.5 point total with a blowout victory over the Sacramento Kings. The only issue is that they pulled Kawhi Leonard early in the fourth quarter. He recorded a combined 43 PRA… we needed 45. But hey, ‘Two out of three ain’t bad’.

NBA Best Bets Today, 12/31: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Wednesday
Golden State Warriors vs Charlotte Hornets: Wednesday 12/31
Game Time: 1:00 PM ET | TV: NBA TV |Â Location:Â Spectrum Center |Â Odds: GS -6.5 | O/U 231.5
There are three nationally televised games on NBA TV today. The first game today features the Charlotte Hornets hosting the Golden State Warriors at the Spectrum Center. It will be a Curry family reunion as Stephen Curry, Seth Curry, and Dell Curry will be in the building. Well, Seth may not be there as he is dealing with a sciatic nerve issue, but the expectation is for him to be. Stephen will be playing and a force to deal with. Dell Curry will be sitting courtside on the call for the Charlotte Hornets home broadcast.
For that reason, the best bet of the first game on New Year’s Eve is Stephen Curry to make over 4.5 threes. Making 5 threes is not an easy task, but the Currys are the NBA’s best three-point making family. Dell spent 10 years in Charlotte and was known as a three-point specialist in an era when attempting threes would get someone placed on the bench with an ass-chewing all the way to the seat.Â
Stephen changed the ‘unspoken rules’ and ideology about high-volume three-point attempt games. He influenced the game in a way not seen since Magic Johnson, and he has stayed true to attempting several threes, even in the twilight of his career. Look For Stephen to put up a show in what could be the last time he plays on the court he ran around on as a young kid. Put a unit on the plus odds best bet.Â
New York Knicks vs San Antonio Spurs: Wednesday 12/31
Game Time: 7:00 PM ET | TV: NBA TV |Â Location:Â Frost Bank Center |Â Odds:Â SA -1.5 | O/U 237.5
- Prediction: Total Under 237.5 (-105 on BETMGM Sportsbook)Â
The last nationally televised game today takes place in River City. The San Antonio Spurs host the New York Knicks in a thrilling East versus West battle. Both the Spurs and Knicks have won eight of their last ten matches. The difference is that the Knicks have won three in a row, and the Spurs have lost back-to-back games.
Can San Antonio turn things around? Of course. To do so, they will need to slow down Jalen Brunson and Karl-Anthony Towns. Which they can do. The total of this game is the second highest of the day, and although it’s possible, the under seems the better play.Â
It will be a high-intensity game, and that usually means better defense. The Knicks still have good perimeter defenders, and the Spurs have a great frontcourt defense. Including Victor Wembanyama. Look for the game to stay below the 237.5 point total. Put a unit on the best bet of under 237.5 points.

NBA Prop Bet Today, 12/31
There is a Jordan Poole sighting in Fantasy Alarm NBA Best Bets. He has been injured for the majority of the season, and the New Orleans Pelicans were giving their young talent more minutes due to it. With Poole back, the rotation has been inconsistent, and so has the scoring. Poole is one of the best natural scorers on the team, but he’s a scorer who does better with the ball in his hands.
The great news, and determining factor for this best bet, is that the Pelicans are playing the Chicago Bulls. The Bulls allow the second-most points per game in the Eastern Conference, 122.4. The Pelicans allow 122.8 points themselves. Without having all the data, memory serves that the Bulls have been in a couple of the highest scoring games this season. Chicago has won five of their last seven games. In four of those winning games, they allowed 150, 125, 123, and 111 points.Â
Poole has scored over 15.5 points in three of his last five games and two of his last three. He’s averaging 16.7 points per game, and for some reason, the sportsbooks have teased down his points. It’s illogical, and in the business of betting, one must take advantage. If the sportsbooks give us a foot, we become a ruler. And we will rule this best bet. Put a unit on Poole to score over 15.5 points.
