NBA Best Bets Today, 12/13: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Saturday
Yesterday was our best day of the season. Three plus odd props, three winners, and we could have teased them all up! A smashing success for Fantasy Alarm NBA Best Bets. When life gets too hard, or not hard enough, we hit the boards. And per usual, it paid off. Three rebounding bets, three wins, and we look to keep the momentum going today with three more plus odd best bets. As some coaches are fond of saying, ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’.
The NBA Cup is back on and it’s going to be two intense games to see who plays in the final game. Make no mistake about it, these games are “meaningful”. A word that coaches and players toss around, and NBA Cup elimination games have a playoff feel to them. It’s a moment to measure up against a possible future playoff opponent.
Everyone wins money; the stars, the bench riders, the role players, the head coach, and the assistant coaches. They all want a nice holiday bonus for 2025, and for the players and head coach that is over $500,000 each. The assistant coaches receive 75% of the head coach’s bonus in a split pool. Today’s best bets look to something similar, share earnings from successful NBA Cup bets with the #FAmily.
NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 12/13
New York Knicks vs Orlando Magic: Saturday, 12/13
Game Time: 5:30 PM ET | TV: Amazon Prime | Location: Kia Center | Odds: NYK -4.5 | O/U 224.5
Prediction: ORL Win Margin 1-10 (+240 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
The Orlando Magic host the New York Knicks at the Kia Center in an elimination game of the NBA Cup. This is a possible Eastern Conference playoff preview, and it is the NBA Cup’s last two teams from the East. The Magic are underdogs on their homecourt, but the spread has moved one point in their favor. That is disrespectful to a team that has defeated the Knicks twice; once by 17 points and another by 12 points.
This will be the fourth time they have played each other this season, and Orlando to upset the Knicks is the best bet. Not just upset with a moneyline, but a 1-10 win margin at +240 on FanDuel Sportsbook. There has been plenty of time to prepare for this game, and Orlando already has the formula to win against New York.
Desmond Bane and Jalen Suggs are a severely underrated backcourt. Tristan Da Silva is playing excellent defense in the absence of Franz Wagner, and Paolo Banchero is matchup proof against the Knicks. It feels as though the sportsbooks are tilting the odds to sucker in the large betting market of New York. Karl-Anthony Towns and Jalen Brunson have repeatedly displayed their inability to deliver in big games, and this is a big game. Expect the Magic to take care of a team they have destroyed twice. Put a unit on the +240 best bet of the day.
San Antonio Spurs vs Oklahoma City Thunder: Saturday 12/13
Game Time: 9:00 PM ET | TV: Amazon Prime | Location: Paycom Center | Odds: OKC -10.5 | O/U: 232.5
Prediction: Victor Wembanyama Over 18.5 Points (+104 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
‘Mama, here come that man.’ Victor Wembanyama is set to make his return, and Fantasy Alarm is going to attack the sportsbooks who are cowardly and being too cautious. Wembanyama has stated that he is feeling great, and there won’t be any limitations on him tonight. And why should there be? This is the only meaningful game Wembanyama has played in during his NBA career. The expectation is for him to ball out and remind everyone what a special player he is.
His point line is set at either 17.5 or 18.5 depending on the sportsbook. However the 18.5 point line on FanDuel comes with plus odds, and is the best bet to take. The total of this game has moved from 227.5 to 232.5, as several bettors expect points. Wembanyama is averaging 26.2 points per game and his point line is seven points below his average. It is illogical, and the sportsbooks are banking on minute restrictions in an NBA Cup game. It’s foolish.
As great as the Oklahoma City Thunder’s defense is, they do not have an answer for Wembanyama. Chet Holmgren might make an impactful defensive play or two, but the San Antonio Spurs will scheme up plays for Wembanyama to have a mismatch. He can also out maneuver and out muscle Holmgren when they are matched up. Put a unit on this plus odds point proposition in today's second game.
NBA Prop Bet Today, 12/13
Victor Wembanyama Over 9.5 Rebounds (+116 on FanDuel Sportsbook)
We aren’t finished with Wembanyama yet. His rebounding line is set at 8.5 or 9.5 depending on the sportsbook. Once again the over on the higher line is providing positive odds, and Fantasy Alarm smells blood in the water. They are once again counting on minutes restrictions from Wembanyama. That will not be the case.
These are both great rebounding teams, but San Antonio has the edge on Oklahoma City. They allow the seventh fewest to opposing teams, with 41.1, and the Thunder thirteenth with 43.1. Chet Holmgren is an underwhelming rebounder for his size, and Wembanyama has had great statistical games against the Thunder.
Wembanyama is averaging 12.9 rebounds per game, and the fact that it can be teased up to 9.5 for plus odds is a must bet. If the sportsbooks give us a foot, we become a ruler. Put a unit on a France national player to deliver on a plus-odd rebounding line for the second day in a row.
