NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 11/4
Our NBA best bets for Wednesday are Bucks vs. Celtics Over 222.5 and the 76ers +2.5 in Detroit. On the prop side, we're featuring LeBron James Over 12.5 rebounds plus assists and Alperen Sengun Over 15.5 rebounds plus assists, with more player props listed below. Shop around before you bet.
Bucks vs. Celtics Prediction: Wednesday, 11/4
Pick: Over 222.5
Milwaukee's defense has been one of the worst in the league without Giannis Antetokounmpo. The Bucks allow 118.0 points per 100 possessions, third-worst in the NBA, according to ESPN's Hollinger team stats, and they play at a 98.4 pace, tied for third-fastest. That combination creates extra possessions against a defense that can't get stops.
Boston should take full advantage. The Celtics rank ninth in offensive efficiency at 112.8 points per 100 possessions, and against a Bucks defense this porous, they have a clear path to 120-plus on their own. Milwaukee, with Tyler Herro and Jaime Jaquez., can push the pace and add enough points to get this game over the number.
The risk is Boston's tempo. The Celtics play at the 25th-ranked pace at 93.7, and an 11.5-point spread raises the chance of a garbage-time fourth quarter. But DraftKings is already at 223.5, so 222.5 gives us a point of cushion. Over 222.5 is our first of Wednesday's NBA best bets.
76ers vs. Pistons Prediction: Wednesday, 11/4
Pick: 76ers +2.5
This is a matchup of the NBA's two best defenses. Detroit allows a league-best 100.5 points per 100 possessions, and Philadelphia is tied for second at 103.1. In a game with a 218.5 total, every possession matters, and that's where the 76ers have an edge: they turn the ball over on just 11.4% of their possessions, the lowest rate in the league, compared to Detroit's 14.0.
Philadelphia also has a loss to answer for. Detroit handed the 76ers their only loss of the season on Oct. 25, but Philadelphia played that game without Joel Embiid and starting guard VJ Edgecombe. Both are available tonight, with Embiid on a 25-minute restriction, and Tyrese Maxey has been one of the league's top scorers at 29.1 points per game. Detroit, meanwhile, is still without All-NBA center Jalen Duren.
The risk is Detroit's home floor and Cade Cunningham, who averages 23.7 points. But at 7-1, Philadelphia doesn't need to be favored to win this game outright. 76ers +2.5 rounds out our game picks among today's NBA best bets.
Best NBA Prop Bets & Other Picks Today, 11/4
LeBron James Over 12.5 Rebounds + Assists
James is averaging 7.0 rebounds and 7.3 assists, or 14.3 combined, and has cleared 12.5 in five of six games. The lone miss came against Detroit on Oct. 25, when the 76ers were without Joel Embiid and VJ Edgecombe.
With Joel Embiid on a 25-minute restriction and Detroit missing Jalen Duren, James should spend more time as Philadelphia's primary rebounder and creator. Detroit's slow 93.4 pace caps possessions, but this line sits nearly two below his average.
Alperen Sengun Over 15.5 Rebounds + Assists
Sengun is averaging 8.7 rebounds and 7.8 assists for the NBA's most efficient offense, has cleared 15.5 in four straight games, and has averaged 11.8 rebounds and 4.8 assists over his last five games against Minnesota.
The Timberwolves have a top-five defense, but Anthony Edwards is out and Houston is an 8.5-point favorite at home.
More player props we like on Wednesday's slate:
- Domantas Sabonis Over 12.5 Rebounds: Sabonis leads the NBA at 14.6 rebounds per game and has cleared this line in six of seven games against a Lakers team with a league-average 52.3% rebound rate.
- Matisse Thybulle Over 1.5 Three-Pointers: Thybulle has 17 threes in eight games and has cleared this line in five of them, and Sacramento's defense ranks second-worst at 121.1 points allowed per 100 possessions.
