The Minnesota Timberwolves shut down the Miami Heat, holding them to 94 points. This all but ensured the best bet of over 237.5 points would fail. Santi Aldama and the Memphis Grizzlies stunned the San Antonio Spurs with an upset win. Santi Aldama recorded 9 rebounds in the win, one more than the teased up best bet of 8+ rebounds. A great success at +112

NBA Best Bets Today, 1/7: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Wednesday
Toronto Raptors vs Charlotte Hornets: Wednesday 1/7
Game Time: 6:00 PM ET | TV: NBA League Pass |Â Location:Â Spectrum Center |Â Odds: TOR -2.5 | O/U 230.5
- Prediction: TOR -2.5 (-110 on FanDuel Sportsbook) 2.0 U
The Charlotte Hornets surprised everyone with a win against the Oklahoma City Thunder. It was a reverse game for the Thunder, as the Hornets had the game put away midway through the third quarter. Oklahoma City has had difficulty getting wins without the favorable whistle they have previously enjoyed.
The Hornets have won five of their last ten games, and two in a row. However, they will not be able to compete with the Toronto Raptors, who have hustlers in the front and backcourt. They have several players who are not dependent on fouls, nor threes to produce points. Everyone but Jakob Poeltl is expected to play for the Raptors, and they have played numerous games without him this season.
Toronto has won six of their last ten games, two consecutive matches, and are 10 - 7 on the road this season. The Raptors are in a tight divisional race and can keep climbing the Eastern Conference rankings during this stretch of the season. Put two units on Toronto to cover the low spread on the road.Â
Houston Rockets vs Portland Trail Blazers: Wednesday 1/7
Game Time: 10:00 PM ET | TV: Local |Â Location:Â Moda Center |Â Odds:Â HOU -6.5 | O/U 224.5
Kevin Durant had a game-sealing three-point field goal in the Houston Rockets' most recent game. Durant ended with 26 points in a victory on Houston’s home court. Now the Rockets travel to the great northwest to play the Portland Trail Blazers at the Moda Center. It will be a different atmosphere, and one that could test Houston.
The Trail Blazers are playing much better than people anticipated, and are currently on a three-game win streak. They have won six of their last ten games, and are 14 - 13 against the Western Conference. They allow 119.6 points per game to opposing teams, but Clingan has improved his rebounding. They are limiting second-chance opportunities, and their backcourt is returning to full health.Â
Durant has peak scoring games, and games he sits back to Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson. He’s averaging 25.7 points per game, and the sportsbooks have added a field goal to his projected point total. It appears to be a classic example of the sportsbooks knowing their audience and the moment. We aren’t that audience, though. Put a unit on the best bet of under 27.5 points for Durant on the road.

NBA Prop Bet Today, 1/7
The New York Knicks host the Los Angeles Clippers in an East versus West battle at Madison Square Garden. These are two teams headed in opposite directions. The Clippers have won seven of their last ten games behind the resurgence of Kawhi Leonard. The Knicks have lost four consecutive games and have lost six of their last ten games.Â
The Knicks are favorites in this match, and despite that, the best bet is for them to underperform. The scores in the Clippers games were the deciding factor for the last best bet of today. In their last eight games, the scores are: 103 - 102, 146 - 115, 118 - 101, 131 - 90, 112 - 99, 119 - 103, 128 - 108, 103 - 88. Excluding the career night from Jaylen Brown and the 146-point total, the Clippers held opponents to 108 points or less.Â
The Knicks are a good team, but an incomplete team. The loss of Josh Hart has impacted New York more severely than most thought it would. Hart was the best player outside of Brunson at creating plays for teammates. It has stifled their offense, and Fantasy Alarm is betting on more of the same against a good defensive team. Put a unit on the best bet of under 113.5 total points for New York today.
