NBA Best Bets Today, 1/6: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Tuesday
Isaiah Stewart and the Detroit Pistons destroyed the New York Knicks in the battle of the Eastern Conference’s top two teams. The bad news is that Stewart went over his rebounding proposition of 7.5. The good news is that the triple unit slammer was successful on the total. The line was set at 234.5 points, and the game finished with a 121 - 90 Pistons victory. The rare triple unit best bet was a secure wager, and we knew it.Â
The Denver Nuggets came out hot and surprised the Philadelphia 76ers with their great play. The game went into overtime, and came down to the last field goal attempt. The Denver Nuggets won as massive underdogs in a game they started with a +14.5 spread. Thus, only one of three bets was successful, but that one bet brought almost a unit profit yesterday. It was another profitable day for Fantasy Alarm NBA Best Bets.
There are six games today, and the best bets look to take advantage of totals that are off and a teased player proposition. There are two nationally televised matches today, and the first nationally televised match features the first best bet of the night.

NBA Best Bets Today, 1/6: Picks, Predictions & Player Props - Tuesday
Miami Heat vs Minnesota Timberwolves: Tuesday 1/6
Game Time: 8:00 PM ET | TV: Peacock |Â Location:Â Target Center |Â Odds: MIN -5.5 | O/U 237.5
237.5 points seems like a ridiculous point total. However, it is just one point above the median of today’s games. The Minnesota Timberwolves host the Miami Heat, and they recently played each other in Miami. This time, the game is at the Target Center in Minneapolis, and the Timberwolves are hoping for the same result.Â
They won the game 125 - 115, and the total went to 240 points. Neither of these teams is playing great defense, but more importantly are playing great offense. Minnesota averages 119.6 points per game, and Miami averages 120.8 points per game. Combined, that is 240.4 points, and their last game was true to that total. This one should be too.
This is a nationally televised match, and Tyler Herro could return. Look for the back court of each team to attempt several field goal attempts, and for that to lead to several points. These are two quick-paced teams that want to push the ball up and down the court. Put a unit on the over in the first nationally televised game today.
Dallas Mavericks vs Sacramento Kings: Tuesday 1/6
Game Time: 11:00 PM ET | TV: Peacock |Â Location:Â Golden 1 Center |Â Odds:Â DAL -5.5 | O/U 230.5
The second game on Peacock features the Sacramento Kings hosting the Dallas Mavericks at the Golden 1 Center. This game features the lowest projected total of the day, and it still isn’t low enough. This is a battle between teams that are not currently in the play-in, and they are unlikely to improve enough to make it to the playoffs.Â
Dallas and Sacramento are a combined 5 - 15 in their last twenty games. The Kings are TWENTY games below .500, and it’s January 5th. That is difficult to do, and losing five consecutive games is not the way to turn it around. That is where the franchise is currently at. The Kings average 110.3 points per game, and Dallas averages 113.5. That is 223.8 combined points, and expecting 6.5 more from teams that do not have bona fide offensive stars is bizarre.
Anthony Davis is expected to play, and he will be a defensive force for the Mavericks. The Kings do not have a consistent high-scoring player, and have relied on older point guards to be leading scorers. That is not sustainable, and close field goal attempts will be difficult to come by. Put a unit on under 230.5 points in the second nationally televised game today.

NBA Prop Bet Today, 1/6
Santi Aldama has been playing more minutes with the injuries to Zach Edey and Jock Landale. Landale is back and starting at center, and Aldama is coming off the bench. However, the Memphis Grizzlies are playing against the San Antonio Spurs, and Aldama’s size will be needed against Luke Kornet and Victor Wembanyama.Â
Memphis has lost four consecutive games and will need to play with intensity. Aldama has double-digit rebounds in two of his last four matches, and has a great opportunity to do so again. In addition to being 7’ tall, Victor Wembanaya is playing more time outside of the paint. Defensive rebounds should be easier for Aldama in tonight’s match, and the teased-up line of 8+ at plus odds is too good to pass up. Put a unit on this best bet on Aldama’s rebounds.
