The Detroit Pistons and Houston Rockets played an excellent game. The best bet of the Pistons covering the spread did not happen, nor did those that went with the moneyline. Kevin Durant would not be denied and was letting opposing players, coaches, and fans know about it. He led all players with 32 points, Detroit’s leading scorer (Jalen Duren) had 18.

As good as that showdown was, the Brooklyn Nets versus the Boston Celtics was the game of the day. Not one, but two overtimes took place as the fans truly got their money’s worth. Just as we predicted, Michael Porter was the leading scorer for the Nets with 30 points. His point line was set at 23.5, and he did not get there in regulation. However he did get there in the first overtime, ensuring the best bet was successful.

Jalen Pickett did not get any rebounds in the first half, as he focused on being an outlet as the starting point guard. He did not get anywhere close to going over 4.5 rebounds, but the Denver Nuggets won the game. Yesterday was old news though. There are seven games today, and they begin at 12:00 PM ET. Three of the games are nationally televised on ABC.

NBA Picks, Predictions & Best Bets Today, 1/24

New York Knicks vs Philadelphia 76ers: Saturday, 1/24

Game Time: 7:00 PM ET | TV: ABC | Location: Xfinity Mobile Arena | Odds: NYK -1.5 | O/U 229.5

Prediction: PHI Moneyline (-104 on BetMGM Sportsbook)

The Philadelphia 76ers host the New York Knicks in an Atlantic Division rival showdown. The 76ers are 1.5 games back from the Knicks in the Eastern Conference, and tie-breakers could decide who gets more home games in the playoffs. This match has more on it than meets the eye.

The Knicks have been in a slump, but were able to get a big win against the Brooklyn Nets. Philadelphia has won five of their last ten games, and are .500 at home this season. New York looks out of rhythm since winning the NBA Cup, but it could just be a mid-season slump. Karl-Anthony Towns is constantly being mentioned in trade rumors, and they also are having difficulty staying healthy.

Philadelphia has both Joel Embiid and Paul George listed as probable. Hence why this game is expected to be close. Put a unit on Philadelphia to win at home against the struggling Knicks.

Los Angeles Lakers vs Dallas Mavericks: Saturday, 1/24

Game Time: 8:30 PM ET | TV: ABC | Location: American Airlines Center | Odds: LAL -4.5 | O/U 233.5

Parlay Prediction: LAL -4.5 & Luka Doncic 30+ Points (+168 DraftKings Sportsbook)

Luka Doncic makes his return back to Dallas but it is not his first time back. However feelings of familiarity will be taking place for the Slovenian. Even though he’s been a Los Angeles Laker for almost an entire year, he’s played the most games of his NBA career at the American Airlines Center.

The Lakers are favored by -4.5 and that is the base of this same game parlay best bet. Dallas is hit or miss with their production, but they do not have the size to compete with the Lakers. The Lakers should attack any missed field goal, and be a defensive problem for field goals close to the rim.

Luka Doncic’s point line is set at 33.5 points, but has been teased down for the purpose of this best bet. Doncic is going to attempt a ton of free throws, as he leads the association in free throw attempts. He’s also going to attempt several field goals, because that is what he does too. And he’s one of the best in the NBA at making both field goals and free throws. Even with a teased down point line, the odds are fantastic. Put a unit on the rare same game parlay best bet.

NBA Prop Bet Today, 1/24

Brandon Miller Over 20.5 Points (-119 on DraftKings Sportsbook)

Brandon Miller and the Charlotte Hornets host the Washington Wizards in an Eastern Conference battle. It is the first NBA game in today’s action and we are expecting it to be the first cashed best bet. Brandon Miller is starting to deliver on the player many expected him to be, and the Hornets are playing better than most expected too. They are currently in eighth place of the Eastern Conference.

Miller has scored over 20.5 points in four of his last five games, and scored 20 in the game he did not. He has become a go-to target for the Hornets, and he has rewarded them with steady production. He’s averaging 20.0 points per game this season, and the Washington Wizards allow 123.2 points per game. That is second most in the Association. Put a unit on Miller to score over 20.5 points against the Wizards, and cash in on the earliest game today.
