It was a close betting day yesterday, but the hook sank into us yet again. Victor Wembanyama and the San Antonio Spurs started out hot. They controlled the first half, but fell apart in the fourth quarter, being outscored by 15 points. Victor Webanyama earned his tenth rebound in that quarter, and did not stay under 9.5.

Aaron Gordon was nowhere near his 6.5 required rebounds as the Los Angeles Lakers dominated the rebounds in this match. Anthony Edwards came through for our NBA Best Bets by delivering well over 40+ points, rebounds, and assists. He finished with 49, but it wasn’t enough to topple Luka Doncic… as the chalk play wins again. However, we did win our bet.

There are seven nationally televised games today, two of which are nationally televised on ESPN. The first is an Eastern Conference clash between teams trying to climb up the rankings. It also features our first best bet of today.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Charlotte Hornets: Wednesday 1/21

Game Time: 7:00 PM ET | TV: ESPN | Location: Spectrum Center  | Odds: CLE -3.5 | O/U 236.5

The Charlotte Hornets have been defeating great teams, and they have won 5 of their last ten games. Cleveland has been losing to bad teams, and not the team many of us expected to be. This game is in Charlotte, and the Hornets have the advantage of resting at home. Which is part of the reason the spread on the Hornets is the best bet.

Another reason is that the Hornets allow fewer points per game than Cleveland. Their young talent is better than average at playing laterally, and excel in frontcourt defense. They play energetic basketball and will cause issues for the slower Evan Mobley and older Jarrett Allen. LaMelo Ball and Donovan Mitchell are great guards, and they will be difficult for either team to contain.

That puts the edge on Charlotte, who could very well win this match. But instead of risking it on the moneyline, it is suggested to take the spread on the home team. Put a unit on this best bet today.

Oklahoma City Thunder vs Milwaukee Bucks: Wednesday 1/21

The Milwaukee Bucks host the Oklahoma City Thunder in the late-night game. Two of the best players of this decade duel it out in front of a national audience. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Giannis Antetokounmpo are the players we are discussing, but Antetokounmpo is the player we are betting on today.

The Thunder have an elite defense that has been able to slow down most opponents. Antetokounmpo is not like most opponents. He can dominate any game regardless of the opponent. It’s just a matter of when he wants to do it and when he wants his teammates to get in a rhythm.

He’s gone over this point total in two of his last three home games and five of his last ten games. He tends to be more ball-dominant against good teams, and the expectation is that he will score often in today’s match. Put a unit on one of the best scorers of all-time to do just that, score. 

 

 


 

NBA Prop Bet Today, 1/21

Pascal Siakam is having an All-NBA year, although it isn’t noticed around the league. Part of that is due to the fact that the Indiana Pacers are one of the worst teams in the Association (and the state has something else they are currently celebrating). But Siakam is not the reason they are losing. In fact, he is one of the few reasons they have won at all. 

His rebounding is a bit sporadic, but the Pacers are playing the Boston Celtics. The Celtics are still trying to find rhythm at their center position, and Siakam will be the best player of either team's frontcourt. He has recorded over 6.5 rebounds in three of his last five games, and has an average of 6.9 rebounds per game this season. Put a unit on him to deliver against the Boston Celtics today.
