Last season, the top two seeds in the Eastern Conference were the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics, but neither hoisted the Larry O’Brien Trophy. They aren’t exactly on equal footing when it comes to their current quest to get to the NBA Finals, but we’re still here with our best Cavaliers vs. Celtics predictions for tonight’s game.

Better yet, we’re also here to provide you with a massive $2,000 Fanatics Sportsbook sign-up offer to make any Cavaliers vs. Celtics picks even more valuable!

Cavaliers vs. Celtics Predictions for NBA on ESPN, 10/29

As the top two seeds last year, these elite squads didn’t get to meet up in the postseason. That was in large part due to the Jayson Tatum torn Achilles, leading to the Celtics falling in the second round. We note that because it’s also a factor for any Cavaliers vs. Celtics predictions today, Tatum will still be out for quite some time.

However, the Cavs aren’t without their issues as well. They’ve been starting their season without both Darius Garland and Max Strus; that said, they’re also off to a 3-1 start. On the flip side, Boston just grabbed their first win back on Monday night after starting their season with a 0-3 record.

That doesn’t bode well for Celtics bettors, even at home, as Cleveland went 3-1 against the spread versus Boston last year, and that was with a healthy Jayson Tatum. With that in mind, we aren’t surprised to see the Cavaliers vs. Celtics odds for today favoring Donovan Mitchell and company.

As for the over/under split in last year’s four meetings, that went 2-2, not providing us with much of a trend. With those standard markets out of the way, let’s get into where we’re actually going to be looking for the best bet from our Cavaliers vs. Celtics predictions.

Cavaliers vs. Celtics Best Bet: Jaylen Brown Over 24.5 Points (-115 at Fanatics)

We made picks for the Cavs most recent game (against the Pistons on Monday night) with a best bet for them to hold Jalen Duren under 10.5 rebounds, which came through for us. While we didn’t focus on the Celtics for their first win of the season, they had six players score double digits, including two bench players.

Now we need to find a valuable spot to lock in some Cavaliers vs. Celtics picks, and we’ve got our eyes on the Boston side of the matchup. They need that aforementioned depth to stay competitive without Jayson Tatum, and Jaylen Brown would be the Tatum for several other teams in the NBA.

He was unable to hit his points prop against the New Orleans Pelicans the other night, but we also don’t expect Luka Garza to score another 16 points, nor another 25 points from Anfernee Simons. Although the Cavs were quite successful against the Celtics last year, we still saw Jayson Tatum average 33.5 points.

Someone is going to have to make up for that missing production, and it’s expected to be Brown for each and every game. Let’s not forget that he put up 41 in the game prior to Monday night. It’s not the most “outside-the-box” pick by any means, but the best bet from our Cavaliers vs. Celtics predictions is Jaylen Brown over 24.5 points (-115 at Fanatics).
