The new package on the cars produced great racing on Saturday night with the passing and position battles that broke out throughout the field much of the race. It also didn’t hurt that several of the top qualifiers failed tech inspection and were moved to the back of the field. A late caution helped to gather the field back up and produced close racing until over time ultimately named the winner as Brad Keselowski.

*The cash percentages are based on a $5 Single-Entry Double-Up with 574 entries that paid out the top-250 finishing positions. The GPP percentages are based on the $1 Happy Hour contest with 23,781 entries that paid the top-5,650 finishing positions.
Things of note:
Aric Almirola was the highest-owned driver in both formats at shockingly high 71.1-percent in cash and 47.2-percent in GPP which was mainly due to him being bumped to the rear for failing inspection after showing top-five speed in practice, that and his mid-tier price tag. In the cash contest, there were seven different drivers owned on more than 40-percent of lineups which is unusually high. There were five drivers owned at 30-plus-percent in the GPP contest. The pole sitter Kevin Harvick was the second-highest rostered driver in both formats at 56.8 and 46.5-percent in cash and GPP respectively. Of the eight drivers that cracked the 50-point mark on DraftKings, half (Chase Elliott, Alex Bowman, Brad Keselowski, and Erik Jones) were rostered more frequently in GPPs than cash and in fact, Erik Jones was the best low-owned play of the slate with his 50 points appearing on just 3.3-percent of cash lineups and 7.7-percent of GPP lineups. The best value of any driver was the 11.3x value that Alex Bowman returned as his 79.25 points cost just $7,000. Tyler Reddick produced the highest score for any driver at less than $6,500 with 47.5 points totaled.

*The cash percentages are based on a $5 Single-Entry Double-Up with 112 entries that paid out the top-50 finishing positions. The GPP percentages are based on the 8,063-entry Weekly Loyalty Free Play contest that paid out the top-211 finishing positions.
Things of note:
Unlike DraftKings, two different drivers topped the ownership lists as Martin Truex Jr. was highest-owned in the cash contest at 58-percent but surprisingly, Ryan Newman was highest-owned in GPP formats at 34.8-percent just barely higher than Kurt Busch’s 34.6-percent. In fact, There were five drivers that topped the 35-percent barrier in cash whereas clearly, no one topped it in the GPP contest. The pole sitter, Kevin Harvick, was played on 32.1-percent of cash lineups and 21.7-percent of GPP lineups. Of the 13 drivers to post scores of better than 60 points on Saturday night, Kyle Larson had the biggest change in ownership percentages between cash and GPP at nearly 38-percent (49.1 in cash, 11.3 in GPP). Chris Buescher and Joey Logano on the other hand, had roughly the same ownerships across both formats of that group at 6.2 and 8.9-percent and 15.2 and 16.9-percent respectively in cash and GPP respectively. The best low-owned play in cash formats was Ricky Stenhouse Jr. at just 4.5-percent benefiting from his 59.7 points. In GPP games it was without a doubt Tyler Reddick’s 65.1 points on just 1.8-percent of lineups. Due to the remarkably low salary for Reddick on Saturday at just $3,000, he clearly put up the best value at an incredibly high 21.7x return.

*These are the best possible lineups you could have put together on each site given the point totals for the drivers and staying under the $50,000 salary for both sites.
Three drivers are in both lineups in Chase Elliott, Kyle Larson, and Tyler Reddick. Neither lineup had the top-priced guys in it as in DraftKings the top-two priced drivers were skipped and in FanDuel the top-four priced drivers were. Elliott was the highest scoring drivers on both sites so it makes sense that he would be worked into both. The lineups for the rest of the group, however, do show the differences in the scoring schemes on each site. Kevin Harvick made the DraftKings lineup because of his laps led (104) and Fastest Laps (58) even though he lost 12 spots in position differential. He wasn’t in the FanDuel lineup because the laps led points (10.4) only really added four points to his total because of the -6 position differential points he got. The FanDuel lineup does have the next three highest laps led leaders I the race but all three of those had positive position differential. The DK lineup had three drivers that finished in the top-10 and used Matt Tifft as a budget-play while the FD lineup had all five drivers finish in the top-eight of the final grid.
