Welcome to the new NASCAR DFS Playbook!

We will be offering two pieces each week – the first, which follows here, is a breakdown of the drivers’ performance at the track being raced at as well as data for the drivers at other tracks of the same style/distance.  The second, will be more in our normal Playbook format and will include optimal lineups for each race, both for cash and Guaranteed Prize Pool (GPP) formats. The lineups will come out Friday mornings for Saturday races, with a follow-up post-qualifying for any adjustments, or Saturday mornings for Sunday races.

Again, below is the data which will help you analyze which drivers are the best plays each week based on the specific track and tracks like it. The data will be updated each week on Wednesday.

Welcome to the Duck Commander 500 at Texas Motor Speedway!

Jimmie Johnson- Six wins overall and three in the last four mean he’s the top dog deep in the heart of Texas. The second most laps led in the last two years aren’t too shabby either. There really isn’t much more to say about him this week.

Kevin Harvick- Every week it’s as if his car is running on rocket fuel instead of Sunoco race fuel. That is until he gets to Texas where he has only led the fourth most laps in the last four races. The one downside is he doesn’t finish as high as he starts.

Joey Logano- Logano is the only other driver to leave Texas with a win in the last two years. Mile and a half circuits are his bread and butter, leading the top division with 15 top-five finishes on them in the last 26 races.

Kyle Busch- Unlike the three listed above him, Busch starts further back in the pack and moves up better than anyone in the field posting the highest average finishing position.  He does not however lead many laps giving you a choice between position differential and laps led scoring.

Jamie McMurray- Much like Kyle, McMurray gets high-finishes out of low starting positions on a regular basis at Texas making him a value play at $7,400 this week. He has been a bit boom or bust this year but his history at Texas predict a boom type race.

Ty Dillon- Dillon maybe a rookie when it comes to the Sprint Cup series but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t found success at TMS before. While driving in the Xfinity Series and the Camping World Truck Series he has one win, one top-five, and two top-10 finishes on the track making him a very good sleeper pick this week.
