When looking at the board of MLB player props for tonight’s slate of Major League Baseball action over on Underdog Fantasy, a lot of pitching props jumped off the page. We are targeting MLB strikeout props for two pitchers, starting with San Francisco Giants starter Logan Webb looking to shut down the Colorado Rockies in an NL West showdown. Additionally, Boston Red Sox righty Nick Pivetta will aim to further extend the Los Angeles Angels' losing streak. These are two pitchers that also figure to be popular in many MLB DFS lineups tonight, and the lines for their MLB player props are quite attractive. Logan Webb OVER 5.0 Strikeouts
In an earlier start this year, Webb recorded six strikeouts in seven innings. There’s the over! Beyond that, he has six or more strikeouts in all but one of his last six outings. Over his last 17.2 innings, he’s recorded 22 strikeouts, and at his home park in 2022, he has a 3.30 ERA and 7.80 K/9. Over the last two weeks, the Rockies have a 21.9 percent strikeout rate. Away from Coors Field, Colorado strikes out 21.6 percent of the time.
Nick Pivetta OVER 5.5 Strikeouts
Pivetta has been a beast on the road this year, posting a 3.38 ERA across six starts with 31 strikeouts across 34.2 innings of work. Furthermore, he’s allowed just a .185 average on the road this season. Pivetta is dealing on the rubber now, going at least six innings in six straight starts, while recording five or more strikeouts in all but one of those outings. When you take his success of late, and success on the road, against a scuffling Angels team, it’s hard not to like Pivetta tonight. The Angels have the third-highest strikeout rate in baseball over the last 14 days, not to mention the fourth-highest strikeout rate against righties this season.
