MLB DFS 6/29 – Tonight’s slate is consistent across the board as DraftKings, Yahoo, and FanDuel will use seven-game slates starting at 7:05 pm ET. This slate doesn’t offer any across the board value plays, but we can find values on each individual site; for example, Jonathan India is very cheap on Yahoo and FanDuel, but more mid-tier on DK. One positive is that it appears that we have no mlb weather concerns to worry about, which is amazing, but still keep up with the weather center leading up to first pitch. DFS Value Pitchers

 

Michael Kopech, White Sox (DraftKings - $7600 / FanDuel - $8900)

Kopech has been pretty bad over his last two starts and has had a low strikeout rate, but that has also led to a massive price drop and he is intriguing in this matchup tonight. He still has a very sharp 2.59 ERA and 1.01 WHIP on the year with an impressive .157 BAA. The Angels are a fantastic matchup as they currently rank 21st in runs per game and they have the second highest strikeout rate in baseball at a 25.4-percent clip. 

 

 

Andre Pallante, Cardinals (DraftKings - $5100 / Yahoo - $25)

Pallante has pitched very well this season with a 2.03 ERA through 48.2 innings of work. His low strikeout rate (31 Ks in 48.2 innings of work) lowers his upside a bit, but at these super cheap prices, we don’t need much for him to hit value as an SP2. The Marlins are a pretty mid-tier offense as they rank 16th in runs per game (and are currently cold, averaging just 2.00 runs per game over their last 3). They also have the 6th highest strikeout rate in the league, so this is a solid spot. 

 

DFS Value Hitters

 

Jonathan India, Reds (FanDuel - $2800 / Yahoo - $10)

India appears to be finding his footing as he homered for the second time in five games last night and had his first multi-hit game in a long time. Also, in a remarkable twist for a Reds player, he’s been far better on the road this year, slashing .289/.360/.378 away from Cincinnati, compared to an unsightly .163/.200/.279 at home. Steele is not a very good pitcher as he currently has a 4.59 ERA and 1.45 WHIP on the year. 

 

 

Trayce Thompson, Dodgers (DraftKings - $2000 / FanDuel - $2500) 

Thompson has flopped in the Dodgers/Rockies Coors Field series thus far, but it’s still hard for me to ignore a minimum priced bat who is playing at Coors Field. Especially when he is facing a pitcher who has a 5.58 ERA on the year and 1.50 WHIP in Marquez. Marquez has been ever worse at home too, pitching to a 6.70 ERA, 1.62 WHIP, and .317 BAA with 12 home runs allowed across eight starts at home, compared to a 4.21 ERA, 1.32 WHIP, and a .239 BAA with 2 home runs allowed on the road across six starts. 

 

 

Andrés Giménez, Guardians (FanDuel - $2900) 

Gimenez has been cheap on FanDuel all year long and I don’t  really understand it considering he’s hitting .313 with eight home runs, six steals, and 59 total R+RBI across 61 games. He is hot right now too, slashing .343/.410/.457 across his last 10 games with a home run and a pair of steals. Today he faces Bundy, who has been atrocious on the road this season with a 6.82 ERA and 1.54 WHIP across seven road starts. Gimenez can be paired with Oscar Gonzalez for a nice mini stack of cheap/underpriced Guardians players on FD. 

 

 

Taylor Ward, Angels (Yahoo - $12) 

Ward is Yahoo’s version of Gimenez on FanDuel in which he also consistently stays low priced when it makes zero sense. He is currently riding a nine-game hitting streak and over his last ten games he’s slashing .341/.386/.488 with 13 total R+RBI. He is hitting .313 on the year with 11 home runs, two steals, and 71 total R+RBI across 53 games of action. He is slashing an absurd .350/.458/.563 at home this season and it works out well that the worst site to use Kopech today (he’s overpriced on Yahoo) is the best site to use Ward today.
