After what we can call an interesting slate last night, guess what, we are back at it again tonight. As usual, we want to continue learning and evolving and tonight we get a nice 10-game MLB DFS main slate to work with. Continue to stay up to date with the latest MLB news, MLB lineups, and MLB weather on that path to finishing in the green. Now, let’s dig into some MLB DFS value options to target tonight.

DFS Value Pitchers

Austin Gomber (COL); DraftKings - $6,400; FanDuel - $7,800; Yahoo - $27

Sometimes we just have to embrace risk and volatility. Depending on your lineup construction this might be taking things a little too far as we have seen performances on both ends of the spectrum from Gomber. So far this season it really hasn’t mattered whether he takes the mound at home or on the road, but for what it is worth, he does have a solid matchup tonight in Arizona. Gomber has struggled to the tune of a 6.53 ERA so far this season while partly being hindered by a 58.6% strand rate, but his metrics look more favorable all the way down to his 4.27 xFIP. With under seven strikeouts per nine innings we don’t get a ton of upside there but Gomber has a manageable 11.4 degree launch-angle and 8.9% barrel-rate against him.

Spencer Strider (ATL); DraftKings - $8,500; FanDuel - $8,600; Yahoo - $41

Strider is a little more costly than some of the other value options that have been featured here, but he isn’t exactly cost prohibitive either even if he has progressively gotten more expensive. The Cardinals are a formidable opponent and you do have to keep an eye on the weather, but in his last two starts, Strider picked up 24.5 and 35.7 DK points. While the strikeout upside is a huge draw here, 13.58 per nine innings, Strider’s ERA of 2.87 (2.00 FIP) isn’t too shabby either as he also benefits from only allowing 0.45 home runs per nine innings.

DFS Value Hitters

Aaron Hicks, OF (NYY); DraftKings - $2,500; FanDuel - $2,400; Yahoo - $12

After scoring 16 runs last night, expectations are pretty high once again offensively for the Yankees as they face Josh Winckowski in Fenway Park. Hicks came through with a grand slam on Wednesday which gave him hits in three of his last four games. The outfielder is still batting just .229 on the season, but when the team is rolling and things are going well, it is easy to get caught up in the wave of success. If you look to stack Yankees, Hicks is a very affordable piece of that puzzle as he looks to continue finding his groove. Another piece to build around tonight for the Yankees is Matt Carpenter who is batting third with the platoon advantage.

Kris Bryant, OF/3B (COL); DraftKings - $4,200; FanDuel - $3,200; Yahoo - $21

I know Bryant has not gotten off to the best of starts with Colorado, including a stint on the Injured List, and he just hit his first home run of the season earlier this week, but his price is simply too low. Bryant saw a modest five game hit streak end on Wednesday and is hitting .289 in his last 10 games. Batting average has not been an issue for Bryant to this point, .284 through 107 plate appearances, but the power continues to be lacking; one home run and six RBI. That is ultimately driving the price here and Bryant is sporting career lows in average exit velocity (84.9 miles per hour) and barrel rate (3.8%), but it is a good situation tonight and the track record is there.

Matt Chapman, 3B (TOR); DraftKings - $3,600; FanDuel - $3,000; Yahoo - $17

Chapman has now gone deep in consecutive games and tonight he faces Marco Gonzales who allows 1.44 per nine innings. Batting average is always going to be an issue for Chapman, .225 this season, but his strikeout rate has improved this season to a more manageable 24.3%. With 13 home runs, 40 RBI, and 42 runs scored, Chapman has been a solid contributor this season with his Statcast metrics (22.3 launch angle, 13%-barrel rate, and 51% hard-hit rate) certainly worthy of our attention.

Max Muncy, 2B/3B (LAD); DraftKings - $4,400; FanDuel - $2,700; Yahoo - $16

With the Dodgers expected to score about 5.5 runs tonight against Mark Leiter and the Cubs, their bats have a lot of potential value with Muncy being one of the cheaper options. Over at FD it really is quite difficult to ignore Muncy based on that price after he went deep on Tuesday. Muncy is still hitting .167 on the season in 265 plate appearances as the power has also been slow to come back with eight home runs and 25 RBI. Muncy does have a 12.2% barrel-rate and 20.6 degree launch angle so the hope is that we get another long ball tonight.
