Tonight’s MLB DFS slate is consistent across the board as DraftKings, Yahoo, and FanDuel will all have 13-game main starting at 7:05 pm ET. This slate has plenty of solid value options on offense for MLB daily fantasy lineups, with hitters who are swinging hot bats like Adam Frazier and Josh Lowe. Plus, Eloy Jiménez makes a potential return from the MLB injury report and could be an MLB DFS top play. On the pitching side, we have a decent play in Cole Irvin and another arm that has higher upside, but a slightly steeper cost, for daily fantasy baseball lineups. Another positive is that it appears that we have no serious MLB weather report concerns to worry about, but still keep up with our MLB weather center leading up to first pitch. Plus, check out confirmed MLB lineups and use our MLB daily projections to help build MLB DFS lineups. Lastly, don’t forget to check out MLB implied runs totals using our Vegas Odds link and use our MLB DFS lineup generator. Let’s dive into our MLB DFS top picks for Friday, July 22nd!

MLB DFS Pitchers

Cole Irvin, A’s (DraftKings - $7300 / FanDuel - $7700 / Yahoo - $31)

Irvin is having a nice season with a 3.21 ERA, 1.10 WHIP, and 62 Ks across 95.1 innings of work. The low strikeout rate leaves a lot to be desired, but the rest is strong. He has been incredible at home with a 1.68 ERA and 0.97 WHIP, compared to a 4.79 ERA and 1.23 WHIP on the road. The Rangers aren’t an easy matchup, but being 11th in runs per game puts them as more of a mid-tier matchup. They also have the 12th highest strikeout rate, so all-in-all it’s not a terrible spot for Irvin. Irvin has faced the Rangers twice this season and gone 1-0 with just two runs against across 11.1 innings of work and averaging 18.1 dk points in those two starts.

Lucas Giolito, White Sox (DraftKings - $7800 / Yahoo - $39)

Giolito has been pitching much better lately, scoring 17.3, 26.5, 16.8, and 24.7 DK points over his last four starts. He has pitched at least six innings in each of those starts and has struck out at least five in each as well. The Guardians are a mid-tier matchup as they rank 16th in runs per game, but they do have the lowest strikeout rate in baseball, which is far from ideal. However, Giolito has already faced them twice this season and he has been incredible, going 2-0 with 10 Ks across 13.1 innings pitched with just one run against and averaging 24.1 dk points in those outings.

MLB DFS Hitters

Seth Brown, A’s (DraftKings - $2800 / FanDuel - $2300)

Brown is 5-12 with a home run, double, and four runs scored over his last three games. He is only hitting .223 on the year, but he does have 11 home runs, seven steals, and 69 total R+RBI. He has a strong matchup against Howard today, who has a 6.97 ERA and 1.74 WHIP on the season. Opposing batters are hitting .307 against him.

Josh Lowe, Rays (DraftKings - $2500 / FanDuel - $2300 / Yahoo - $9)

Lowe has been playing much better lately as he is averaging 7.6 dk ppg over his last 10 games, slashing .265/.342/.471 in that span with a home run, four doubles, and 13 total R+RBI. He has scored at least 7 dk points in five straight and in seven of his past eight games. Today he has a nice matchup with Keller, who is a mediocre pitcher that has a 4.83 ERA and 1.48 WHIP across his past 10 starts. .

Adam Frazier, Mariners (DraftKings - $2600 / FanDuel - $2200 / Yahoo - $7)

Frazier is currently riding a seven-game hitting streak and has scored at least 5 dk points in each of those seven games with four multi-hit games in that span. He has been far better at home this year too, slashing .252/.322/.335, compared to .223/.276/.291 on the road. Today he has a solid matchup with Urquidy, who has a 4.09 ERA on the year and that goes to a 5.20 ERA on the road.

Eloy Jiménez, White Sox (Yahoo - $8)

I assume Eloy will make his return to action today after skipping the White sox weekend series due to leg soreness. He has been better at home this season, slashing .219/.265/.406 with both of his dingers, compared to .176/.216/.206 on the road. He has long been a reverse splits guys too, so facing a righty is actually a good thing for him. Quantrill has been far worse on the road with a 4.66 ERA, 1.58 WHIP, and .309 BAA, compared to a 3.19 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and .231 BAA at home.
