Tonight’s MLB DFS slate for Friday, July 1 is consistent across the board as DraftKings, Yahoo, and FanDuel will use 10-game slates starting at 7:05 pm ET. This slate offers plenty of value options at the plate today for daily fantasy baseball lineups and I have four listed, but there are plenty more that I’m sure will be in the playbook and/or discussed in the MLB DFS Discord channel. Pittsburgh Pirates rookie Roansy Contreras leads the way as an MLB DFS top play in the value range tonight. It appears that we have no serious MLB weather report concerns to worry about, but still keep up with the weather center leading up to the first pitch as there are one or two potential spotty games. Lastly, don’t forget to check out MLB implied runs totals using our Vegas Odds link and use our MLB DFS lineup generator. Plus, keep an eye on the latest fantasy baseball news and MLB lineups as lineup lock gets closer. Let’s dive into our MLB DFS top picks today!

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Roansy Contreras, Pirates (DraftKings - $6800 / FanDuel - $8200 / Yahoo - $36)

Contreras rolls into this game with a sharp 2.76 ERA. He has been incredible at home, pitching to a 0.48 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and .174 BAA across four games, compared to a 4.56 ERA, 1.61 WHIP, and .280 BAA across six road appearances. The Brewers are a mid-tier matchup as they rank 12th in runs per game and have the 9th highest strikeout rate in baseball. He scored 14.2 DK points against the Brewers last time he faced them, despite pitching just three innings (relief appearance).

Marco Gonzales, Mariners (DraftKings - $7400 / FanDuel - $8000 / Yahoo - $37)

Gonzales is a solid pitcher who comes into this game with a 3.31 ERA. His upside is limited due to low strikeout rates, but that also keeps his price tag cheap. This is a great matchup as the A’s are 29th in runs per game this season and have the 10th highest strikeout rate in baseball. He just recently faced the A’s and scored 15 DK points, pitching seven innings of two-run ball. Gonzales’ ERA is very similar to home/road, but he averages more DFS points at home due to having a FAR better whip (1.18 compared to 1.44 on the road) and a slightly better strikeout rate.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Vinnie Pasquantino, Royals (DraftKings - $2400 / FanDuel - $2200 / Yahoo - $8)

Pasquantino hasn’t found his first hit in the big leagues yet, but he’s only had five at-bats thus far and he has drawn a pair of walks. He was slashing .280/.372/.576 at AAA prior to being called up with 18 home runs and 67 RBI across 69 games. The power is legit and that gives him a ton of upside at nearly the minimum price on all three sites. Lefties have mashed against Pineda so far this year, slashing .302/.348/.535 against him with three home runs, compared to the .171/.191/.317 line that righties have produced with just one home run.

Kyle Isbel, Royals (DraftKings - $2000 / FanDuel - $2100 / Yahoo - $7)

How about a second Royals bat? Isbel has homered in back-to-back games, so we can take a shot on that momentum carrying over into tonight’s game. He is also a lefty, so he gets that big advantage against Pineda just like Vinny P. does. Isbel has done all of his damage against righties as he is slashing .241/.264/.386 against them with two home runs and five other extra-base hits, compared to a lousy .150/.191/.150 line against lefties with zero extra-base hits across 21 PA.

Buddy Kennedy, Diamondbacks (DraftKings - $2200 / FanDuel - $2500 / Yahoo - $10)

Kennedy has struggled thus far, but it’s hard for me not to consider playing someone this cheap who is playing at Coors Field. Coors leads to all kinds of offense and usually means high-scoring games, so why not take a chance on a near minimum-priced bat playing there. He gets to face a pitcher in Senzatela who has a 4.66 ERA and 1.78 WHIP this season with a .363 BAA so in other words…. He’s been hit around A LOT.

Jake Meyers, Astros (DraftKings - $2000 / FanDuel - $2100 / Yahoo - $11)

Meyers is still trying to find his footing since making his season debut a week ago, but he does have five hits over his last five games. He doubled and scored in yesterday’s contest. Lorenzen has been torched on the road this season with a 6.14 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, and .268 BAA, compared to a 2.79 ERA, 1.11 WHIP, and .199 BAA when pitching at home. Meyers has been hitting 8th or 9th in the Astros lineup and he works well in a potential wrap-around stack today.
