Happy Wednesday, everyone! It should be a great day to build some winning MLB DFS lineups and enjoy some baseball. Following up a day where we got to see some pure dominance out of Shohei Ohtani with 10 strikeouts and 2 home runs, we do get some day baseball with the Minnesota Twins facing the Atlanta Braves at 12:20 PM EST to enjoy while we get ready for the 13-game main slate that is kicking off at 7:05 PM EST on both DraftKings and FanDuel. This slate is highlighted by Blake Snell, Zach Eflin, Logan Webb, and Aaron Nola as the top pitchers on the mound, with some great value pitchers to target as well. On the offensive side, some of the best lineups to target today include the Los Angeles Dodgers, Tampa Bay Rays, Texas Rangers, Colorado Rockies, and the Cleveland Guardians. Let’s jump into some of my favorite value options of the day!

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

JP Sears, Oakland Athletics (DraftKings: $7,100 / FanDuel: $8,200)

JP Sears continues to be a bright spot for the Oakland Athletics (and they don’t get many of those). He has gone 7 innings in both of his last outings with 7 and 8 strikeouts, respectively. The Yankee's offense has been downright terrible in the absence of Aaron Judge, and I like the chances for Sears to get another high strikeout total today. While you can never really hope for a win out of any Oakland pitcher (Sears only has 1 win this year), he still should be able to put together a good outing at this price today.

Dane Dunning, Texas Rangers (DraftKings: $6,100 / FanDuel: $7,500)

Dane Dunning has a 2.76 ERA and a 1.17 WHIP this season. Good luck ever finding stats like that from a pitcher that is this cheap. Granted, the strikeouts have been almost non-existent for him, and there is going to be some regression at some point with him holding a 5.6% HR/FB rate as well as a 5.09 xERA and a 4.78 xFIP, but I doubt we see that regression come today when he gets to face the Detroit Tigers. This should be a great place for him to get a win, and hopefully can add a few more strikeouts to his line than he has had in his last few outings.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Yainer Diaz, C Houston Astros (DraftKings: $4,500 / FanDuel: $2,600)

One of the best things in fantasy is a player with catcher eligibility not having to play catcher every day. Yainer Diaz has been getting most of his starts at DH while catching just once or twice a week, which is great for fantasy getting to use him as your catcher but allowing him to focus on hitting. Over his last 10 games, he is slashing .308/.308/.590, including 3 home runs, and he has hit in the 5th or 4th spot in the lineup for the last 7 games. The Astros lineup has been struggling a bit in the absence of Yordan Alvarez, but the top of it is still quite good, and Diaz provides great value at this price as one of the top producers in this lineup lately.

Matt McLain, 2B/SS Cincinnati Reds (DraftKings: $4,400 / FanDuel: $3,800)

For all the attention that Elly De La Cruz is getting for the Reds (rightfully so), we should also be paying attention to what fellow rookie Matt McLain has been doing. He is slashing .321/.378/.552 over his first 39 games, along with 6 homers and 4 steals. Over his last 4 games, he has 8 hits, with 7 of them being extra-base hits with 4 doubles and 3 home runs. He is red-hot and batting in the 2-hole of what has become an extremely dangerous offense. McLain and the Reds provide some great value today facing Kyle Gibson, even with it being outside of Great American Ballpark playing in Baltimore.

Ezequiel Tovar, SS Colorado Rockies (DraftKings: $3,800 / FanDuel: $2,900)

Ezequiel Tovar is on a nice little 10-game hitting streak. Over that stretch, he is hitting .341 and has 2 home runs. Hopefully, this is Tovar taking a step forward from what has been a slow start at the plate for him. Getting to bat at the top of the lineup and facing a hittable pitcher in Michael Grove (7.59 ERA & 1.53 WHIP) at home in Coors are all favorable components for Tovar to be able to continue his hit streak and easily return his value at SS today.

Jose Siri, OF Tampa Bay Rays (DraftKings: $3,600 / FanDuel: $3,500)

Jose Siri is on also on a bit of a home run streak right now as well with 3 home runs in his last 4 games. He has also been a solid hitter all year with an .855 OPS, along with 15 home runs and 7 steals, as a great power/speed threat. He has also actually been slightly better against righties than lefties this season, with 11 of his 15 home runs coming against right-handers and a 136 wRC+ against them. Zach Davies has been struggling with a 7.82 ERA and 1.82 WHIP through his first 8 starts, so this should be a great place for Jose Siri and the Rays to do some damage.
