It is Wednesday, my dudes! There is an early 5-game slate of day baseball to enjoy, but we are going to be focused on tonight’s games with the 8-game main slate on both FanDuel and DraftKings that is set to kick off at 6:35 PM EST. Today’s pitching options are highlighted by Kodai Senga and Sandy Alcantara, both of who have had fantastic games, but also had a few duds. I have a couple of lower-end pitching options today that I love, highlighted in this article. We get some top offenses playing tonight with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Tampa Bay Rays, Houston Astros, and my favorite lineup stack of the day, the Los Angeles Angels. Let’s dive into some of my favorite value options of the day!

MLB DFS Value Pitchers

Patrick Sandoval, Los Angeles Angels (DraftKings: $6,500 / FanDuel: $9,200)

Patrick Sandoval didn’t look too great in his last start. He only went 4 innings and gave up 5 earned runs off 4 hits and 6 walks with 5 strikeouts. His slider was terrible, and the Yankees took advantage. He doesn’t have to face the Yankees today, though; he gets the Oakland Athletics which means even if his slider is still bad, they probably won’t do as much damage as the Yankees did. I think he gets the feel for his slider back, though, and has a chance to tear up this Oakland offense and rack up a ton of strikeouts today with a great chance at a win.

Steven Matz, St. Louis Cardinals (DraftKings: $5,800 / FanDuel: $6,900)

Steven Matz gets to face the San Francisco Giants today, who have been the worst team in baseball against left-handers. They are slashing .210/.267/.321 against lefties this season; that is a .587 OPS. There are only 12 qualified hitters in the majors with a lower OPS than that. On top of that, Steven Matz has looked pretty good in his last two starts despite giving up 6 earned runs over 11 innings. He still has 13 strikeouts, and his biggest struggle has been giving up walks. In this matchup, Matz should be able to pump in strikes against an offense that shouldn’t be able to do any damage against him and Matz has a chance for a great day at a ridiculously low price.

MLB DFS Value Hitters

Keibert Ruiz, C Washington Nationals (DraftKings: $2,700 / FanDuel: $2,700)

Yes, I am going with a Washington National hitter against one of the best pitchers on the slate; no, I am not crazy. Keibert Ruiz has been crushing right-handers this year, which has always been the side he hits better. Currently, with an .856 OPS against righties, even against a decent one in Kodai Senga, I am willing to trust Ruiz’s ability to hit at a very low price. He is coming off a game with 3 hits, including a home run, and even in a tougher matchup, I think Ruiz can easily return this value today.

Nico Hoerner, 2B Philadelphia Phillies (DraftKings: $4,200 / FanDuel: $3,700)

Nico’s price has been rising for the last few days. On DraftKings, he went ranged from $4,500 to $5,100 over the last 3 games, but today has dropped back down to $4,200. I am taking this price dip and grabbing Nico today. The Cubs are facing Michael Wacha, who has not been pitching well, and the Cub's offense has been looking fantastic lately. Nico already has 9 stolen bases, along with 2 home runs and a .347 batting average. He is producing too much this year to be this cheap, I think he is turning into one of the best fantasy second basemen in the game.

Gio Urshela, 3B Los Angeles Angels (DraftKings: $4,000 / FanDuel: $2,700)

The Angels are my favorite offense of the day, going against Luis Medina, and making his MLB debut for the Oakland Athletics. Medina is probably a bullpen arm and I think the Angels will take advantage today. While most of Urshela’s damage this season has come against lefties, he doesn’t have much of a split for his career, so I trust him against the rookie righty today. With the cheap pitching options that I like, I would consider trying to fit all of Mike Trout, Shohei Ohtani, and Hunter Renfroe into a lineup. You can use Urshela as a part of that stack or alone as a cheaper option to get a piece of the Angels lineup today.

Jarred Kelenic, OF Seattle Mariners (DraftKings: $3,900 / FanDuel: $3,500)

Who do you think is leading the Seattle Mariners in home runs, average, OBP, OPS, SLG, and WAR? Nope, it isn’t Julio Rodriguez, it is Jarred Kelenic, and it isn’t particularly close. This doesn’t look like just a hot streak for Kelenic, it looks like it has clicked at the plate, and he is hitting the prospect pedigree he had coming up. He leads the entire major league in wRC+ at 210, meaning he has been 110% better than the league average. He is also third in OPS behind Max Muncy and Brandon Marsh. Kelenic might be becoming one of the best hitters in the league and I am all in, especially when you can get him at this price.
