We have six games this Monday, September 5th, which also happens to be labor day. It’s a fantastic slate without any top-tier pitchers, at least in terms of name value. There are a lot of elite MLB player props to take advantage of on Underdog Fantasy. Underdog Fantasy MLB Player Props September 5

Mike Trout OVER 1.5 total bases

This is an absolutely terrible spot for Tyler Alexander and quite a good spot for Mike Trout. There has been nothing going right for Tyler Alexander since the All-star break. He has a 12.1% K-rate, 5.02 ERA, 1.67 HR/9, 42.5% flyball rate, and a 40% hard-hit rate. Those are just since the break. Sheesh. Let’s not fail to mention how good right-handed bats have been against him. They have a .198 ISO, .484 SLG%, and .347 wOBA this year. Nine of the 11 home runs he’s allowed have been versus righties, too.

On the Trout side of things, well, he’s Mike Trout. But also, he’s dominating left-handed pitching this season. He has a .313/.436/.566 slash along with a .253 ISO, and .427 wOBA. Trout has also been unreal at home, posting a 1.129 OPS and .469 wOBA compared to a .792 OPS and .339 wOBA on the road.

Andrew Heaney OVER 7.0 strikeouts

It’s been quite the resurgence for Andrew Heaney this year as he’s on quite a good stretch right about now. He’s struck out eight or more batters in three consecutive outings, twice notching 10 punch outs. Now that his pitch count has settled at 85 or more, this is a comfortable strikeout number to get for Heaney. Heaney, on the year, has a 35.4% K-rate, which is as elite as it gets.

Heaney matches up against a Giants offense that hasn’t found a whole lot of success since the trade deadline. They’re an offense that can hit lefties at times, but they’ve struck out against them a LOT, notching a 25% K-rate since the deadline. Heaney’s in a great spot to once again have a fantastic outing.
