Underdog Fantasy MLB Player Props September 2

Trevor Story – OVER 1.5 Total Bases

When you look at Dallas Keuchel’s numbers this year, all you can do is shield your eyes. He’s been absolutely horrible. I’m not what else to really say about his year. Keuchel has pitched for multiple teams and in each stop he’s made, he’s been bad. Right-handed hitters have a .415 wOBA and .255 ISO against him this year.

When we take a look at Trevor Story, he’s been great his entire career against southpaws and 2022 has been no different. He has a robust .287 ISO and a .353 wOBA to boot. Story has also been very good at home this year, belting 11 of his 15 home runs and posting a .797 OPS compared to a .660 OPS on the road. Story and the Red Sox are in a prime position to do serious damage here.

Sandy Alcantara – OVER 20.5 Pitching Outs

Is this number being dragged down by one bad start against the Dodgers? I’m confused because after that start, he faced the Dodgers against and threw a complete game. He’s completed seven innings in four of his last five starts and has done so in 18 of 26 starts this year. In fact, he’s gone OVER this number in 18 of his last 21 starts. Yes, you read that correctly. 18 of 21!!!

Over the last two weeks, the Braves haven’t been the best offense against right-handed pitching. They have a .699 OPS as a team and although they’ve gotten Ronald Acuna back, it hasn’t made that much of a difference in terms of results. They’ve faced Alcantara twice this year and he’s allowed 1 ER across 17 innings. One of those starts was a nine inning complete game and the other he went eight against them.
