He faces off against David Festa, who has struggled against righties this season, allowing a .189 ISO, .228 xISO, .372 wOBA, and .367 xwOBA. Over the last two weeks, Lopez has a .354 AVG, .947 OPS, 10 runs scored, and 15 more driven in. I love Lopez in this spot, and he’s one of my favorite Underdog MLB Picks of the day.

 

 


 

Jose Quintana MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 16.5 Pitching Outs

Since June 1st, the New York Mets have been the worst team in baseball against left-handed pitching. They’re 30th in OPS, wOBA, and wRC+ and rank 28th in ISO over that span. They’ve been a league-average offense all year long against lefties as they continue to crush right-handed hurlers. On the flipside, Jose Quintana has had a pretty good season, and although he hasn’t pitched deep into many games, he’s throwing a boatload of pitches since returning from the injured list. He’s thrown 100-plus pitches in three of four starts and was at 90 in the other. He’s topped 16.5 outs in back-to-back starts and should do it for a third straight today.
