Setting your Underdog Fantasy strikeout picks for Monday, August 10? MacKenzie Gore and Tarik Skubal headline tonight's slate with three of the cleanest Higher/Lower strikeout matchups on the board, each backed by real strikeout rate data and favorable opponent trends. This breakdown walks through why each pick clears its number, using season-long K/9 marks, recent form, and how each lineup handles that specific arm slot. Pull up the MLB Player Prop Tool to see the full range of available strikeout lines, and check the MLB Expert Picks Tracker to see how the room is leaning before you build your entry.

MacKenzie Gore Higher than 6.5 Strikeouts

This is the best strikeout matchup on the slate, period. The Angels lead all of baseball in strikeout rate against lefties this season. Gore's last start against the Giants only had four Ks, but he was protecting a lead and pitching to contact, not chasing whiffs. Zoom out to the full season, and you've got 140 strikeouts already and a 9.8 K/9, which is plenty to clear this number against a lineup this vulnerable to lefty stuff.

Tarik Skubal Higher than 7.5 Strikeouts

Skubal's making just his second start as a Dodger tonight, and his first at Dodger Stadium, since his debut came on the road at Wrigley. He's punching out 30.7% of everyone he faces this year, which is elite regardless of team or league, and he did that against the Cubs on just 85 pitches over six innings. Kansas City's the one wrinkle since they've been tough to strike out lately, sitting near the bottom of the league against lefties and chasing even less over the last two weeks. Betting against a 10.7 K/9 arm on his first home start in a new uniform is still the wrong side, matchup noise or not.
