I’m not sure who needs to hear this, but David Peterson is so good at baseball. He’s really good at pitching. The Pirates, however, are not great. They’re not a great team. Outside of the Phillies' start, Peterson has been nails this year. He’s had seven quality starts over his last eight outings and has allowed three earned runs or less. Peterson, despite being on the road, is a big favorite to both pick up a win and quality start while potentially racking up a season-high in strikeouts considering the Pirates' 26.9% K-rate against southpaws this season.

 

 

 

Teoscar Hernandez MLB Underdog Fantasy Pick: Higher Than 1.5 Total Bases (1.04x)

This spot is interesting because on the surface, Noah Cameron has had a lot of success, but under the hood, the numbers do NOT look great, and now he has to navigate a Dodgers lineup that absolutely rakes against lefties. It starts with Teoscar Hernandez, who has a team-leading 1.181 OPS, .508 wOBA, and .378 ISO. He has a long history of success against lefties as he posted a .931 OPS in ‘24, .817 in ‘23, and .978 in ‘22. Back to Cameron, righties have a .195 AVG but have a .220 BABIP, 4.56 xFIP, and 43% FB rate. The regression train is coming, and it’s likely here against Hernandez and the Dodgers.
