Fantasy Baseball 2025 Two-Start Pitchers & Streaming Starters - Week 12

Two and a half months of the season in the books, and we are still discovering which SPs are fully trustworthy, and which are still proving their mettle, either as Fantasy Baseball 2025 Two-Start Pitchers or in more limited roles in the current week as Fantasy Baseball 2025 Streaming Starters. It is always a pleasant situation when someone you took a chance on in March starts to yield big returns as the season plays out, such as Jack Leiter, the final entry in the top tier of dual start hurlers this scoring period.
Please realize that these articles feature most recent rotation information available when the article is written, but that circumstances do change due to weather conditions, injuries and general craziness with managers. If a pitcher listed here as having two starts ends up with one (or perhaps none) in the upcoming week, apologies but this article is meant to provide analysis, it is up to the manager to set the lineups or rotations.

Without further ado, here are this week’s two start pitchers:

These SPs are those that you should thank your roster management savvy for having them as part of your fantasy rotation. Plug them into your lineups for both their outings and reap the benefits. Where they take the ball and against whom they work their magic is not a concern. Getting two trips to the hill from any of these aces is a glorious gift in Week 12.

Abel seems a good bet to stick in the Philly rotation with the news that Aaron Nola will not return until after the All-Star break, but he will need to show that his early success was not a mirage. He demonstrated some control issues in his last outing, and was limited to just 4.1 IP after pitching deeper into contests in his first two starts. He still presents an attractive 2.35 ERA and 1.11 WHIP, although his early strikeout success has faded over his recent outings, possibly a temporary aberration given his minor league results. A road game against the Marlins and then taking on the Mets at home make for good matchups.Â
Mize handed out a season-high four walks in his last appearance, while only racking up three strikeouts, and took a no-decision, a common trend since he came off the injury report with his hamstring issue. He has a couple of matchups that look favorable in terms of bringing his K production back to his slightly-below league average rate (7.8 K/9 over his 55.2 IP this season). The first contest at home against the Pirates looks exceedingly promising, given his home/road splits and the Tigers’ dominance at Comerica Park this season. Not that a road game in Florida is any reason to sit him on your bench.
Bassitt has been pitching deep into contests and is working on a three-game win streak, despite allowing 10 earned runs over those 19.0 IP. His upcoming Week 13 starts are both at home, playing to his strength. His peripheral metrics do not suggest he is pitching beyond his capabilities, and he is generating a ton of grounders, which should help offset his recent propensity to allow the ball to leave the yard.
Quantrill, in his six starts since the beginning of May, has produced acceptable results to be useful, especially in a week when he gets to climb the hill twice. He has produced a 3.25 ERA and 1.19 WHIP over his last 27.2 IP, fanning 24 opposing hitters and handing out just seven free passes. Victories have been rare, but that is due to his supporting cast, more than his efforts on the bump. Two less than ideal matchups, but both are at home, so there is that on the asset side of his ledger.
Soroka has notched two quality starts (QS) on the season over his limited seven starts, both of those efforts coming in his last three trips to toe the rubber for the Nationals. He has been striking out nearly a batter per frame this season, and his control has been superb (1.7 BB/9 over his 37.0 IP in 2025). The first matchup for the coming scoring period with the Rockies visiting the nation’s capital looks like the best contest to use him, and perhaps see just who he lines up against in Los Angeles before plugging him in for his second start of Week 12.
The rookie righty Patrick was not exactly sharp in his last outing, allowing more than three earned runs in an appearance for the first time this season (five, if we are counting), and was hurt by multiple long balls for the first time in a start, as well (two). He still is sporting an admirable 3.25 ERA and acceptable 1.26 WHIP (the latter which is growing due to his handing out more free passes of recent vintage, three in each of his last two outings). He did collect a season high eight Ks against the visiting Braves. He has two road games on tap in Week 12, and thus he is the final middle tier arm this week.

A big batch of arms that it is suggested you not be influenced due to their scheduled two-start status in Week 12. While you might consider plugging one or more of these SPs into your rotation for a streaming start, as is usually the case, there are better options for such single start usage in the second portion of this article beginning a few inches below. Now is not a time to dally with hurlers that will damage your ratio stats while not contributing greatly to your counting stats.
Â
Potential Streaming Options for Week 12
There is no promise that each game day will provide a streaming option. First of all, the pitcher must be available in at least 50% of leagues to be a viable candidate to snag off the wire. Then, the pitchers discussed above are not included as they have a different sort of value, even though some might be available as free agents in your league. Plus, some days the matchups and/or venues just do not figure as positive enough factors to favor plugging the arm into your rotation, even for one start. That all being said, here are this week’s best Fantasy Baseball 2025 Streaming Starters candidates:
Ryan Yarbrough, New York Yankees vs Los Angeles Angels
The veteran southpaw was banged around pretty severely by the visiting Red Sox offense in his latest start, giving up eight earned tallies over just 4.0 IP, which ballooned his ERA to 4.17. Prior to that, over his other five starts, he had posted a stellar 2.08 ERA and 081 WHIP with a 24:5 K/BB ratio. Were those numbers likely to be his constant going forward? Nope. But neither is the recent stumble indicative of his potential and this home start against the Angels could see him back on the beam. Note that he has a rematch scheduled to redeem himself against the BoSox this coming weekend.
Andrew Heaney, Pittsburgh Pirates @ Detroit Tigers
The 34-year-old southpaw, after getting pulled from his start in San Diego due to leg cramping and fortunately not anything arm-related, came out and tossed a QS where he racked up five Ks. He allowed one earned run (on a homer) on four hits and no walks against the visiting Phillies in a no-decision. Heading to Detroit to take on the Tigers is no cakewalk, but over is last six trips to scrape the slab, he has put up a 3.31 ERA and 1.19 WHIP through those 32.2 IP.
Edward Cabrera, Miami Marlins vs Philadelphia Phillies
The main draw for the 27-year-old righthander is his ability to miss bats, as witnessed by his 9.6 K/9 rate over his 10 starts, comprising 49.2 IP thus far in 2025. He does have spotty control and does not pitch deep in the contests he starts. Plus, his team is not going to provide him with much support, with their third-worst run scored/allowed differential over all of baseball. Still, if you want Ks, he will likely deliver, even given the Phillies less than free-swinging tendencies.
Charlie Morton, Baltimore Orioles @ Tampa Bay Rays
As with Cabrera above, the Oriole veteran is best suited for those who are seeking Ks from their streaming SPs. He had seemingly turned a corner after a stint in the bullpen, but only lasted 2.1 IP in his most recent outing against the host Athletics. The Orioles have been playing better of late, but keep your expectations in check, except for the strikeout potential.
Patrick Corbin, Texas Rangers vs Kansas City Royals
The veteran lefthander had been on a run of bad luck, going 1-5 over his last eight starts until coming out with a victory in his last start against the host Twins. He has posted an attractive 3.63 ERA and 1.13 WHIP over those 52.0 IP. Two of his four victories this season have come at home, so there is some hope in this contest that he can turn his poor fortune in the W/L column around. Do not expect much in the way of whiffs, though, as any substantial K numbers are only infrequently showing up on his stat line this season.
Davis Martin, Chicago White Sox vs St. Louis Cardinals
The third-year righty has been credited with four QS over his last six starts, and collected a season-high seven Ks in the most recent QS against the visiting Royals, and did rack up five strikeouts in his most recent time on the hill against the host Astros (an unsurprising road loss, of which he has five). The White Sox are playing much better at home this season, and Davis’ home/road splits indicate he is more comfortable dealing from the mound in his home park. As with the Ranger SP above, expectations about continued K production should be tempered, despite some recent success in missing opponents’ bats.
Chris Paddack, Minnesota Twins @ Cincinnati Reds
The 29-year-old has been remarkably consistent when on the hill this season, allowing three or fewer runs in his last 11 trips to the hill. He has also been tossing five or more innings consistently over that stretch, while posting a fantasy-useful 2.25 ERA and 0.95 WHIP through those 64.0 IP. As could be expected with that WHIP, he has good control, but the downside is below-average K production. He is also more dependable on the bump when pitching at home, not the case in this matchup.
Bryce Elder, Atlanta Braves vs New York Mets
His 12-strikeout effort against the Giants in San Francisco will have fantasy managers snagging him off the wire, and he does have a home start in this contest which is favorable. Despite his ability to generate a boatload of grounders from opposing hitters, his mistakes do have a tendency to leave the park, although not so frequently at home this season to date, another positive point if you want to stream him here.
Adrian Houser, Chicago White Sox vs St. Louis Cardinals
The Pale Hose have been enjoying the efforts of the veteran righty, who has tossed four QS to open his tenure with Chicago. He currently has a superb 1.48 ERA and 1.03 WHIP, which are due to suffer some regression, if his peripheral metrics are to be believed: 2.70 FIP, .273 BABIP, 89.0% LOB, although the movement toward the mean does not have to be overly drastic. He gets to take on the visiting Cards at home in this outing.
Landon Roupp, San Francisco Giants vs Boston Red Sox
The 26-year-old second-year hurler has racked up four QS over his last five appearances, and gets to work on continuing his dominance at home in this matchup. His peripheral metrics do not suggest that he is looking at any major adjustments to his performance on the mound, either. His strikeout numbers while sitting at league average, are also inconsistent, which is a downside if you want to roster him, either for a streaming start or as a full-time SP on your squad.
Emerson Hancock, Seattle Mariners @ Chicago Cubs
Since he tossed a QS against the host Astros on May 23rd, he has posted a useful 3.27 ERA and 1.23 WHIP, not superior ratio numbers but nothing to sneer at, either. He has been much more of a road warrior this season, too, so heading to the north side of the Windy City for his contest plays into his hands. Nothing exciting, and below-average K production, but he does offer end of the scoring period streaming potential.
Brayan Bello, Boston Red Sox @ San Francisco Giants
The 26-year-old righthander is saddled with an unattractive 1.55 WHIP to go with a 3.96 ERA, due to a plethora of hits allowed and a lack of control (4.3 BB/9 over 52.1 IP). Still, he has a two-game QS streak after his last no-decision at home against the Rays, where he did allow four runs but only three earned tallies. He has been more effective when pitching away from Fenway Park, so the trip to the west coast for this appearance is not a negative circumstance for the youngster.
Quinn Priester, Milwaukee Brewers @ Minnesota Twins
The second-year youngster has settled in as a member of the Brewer rotation, working on a three-game win streak, plus he has tossed a trio of QS over his last four starts. He has collected a exceptional set of ratios over his last 38.1 IP (seven starts): 2.35 ERA, 1.02 WHIP. Not a great source of strikeouts, with a 6.3 K/9 rate over the season, but he has been showing improved control (look at the WHIP for evidence of that fact). He has also shown a propensity to excel on the road, and thus is worthy of a streaming start here.
