We get to pick today with Wildcard Wednesday between Garrett Crochet 13.5 Outs or Cole Ragans 14.5 Outs. While I think both are great options, the matchup for Ragans is far more favorable than the matchup for Crochet and, therefore, I will take the higher projection with Ragans taking on the Oakland Athletics.

For Ragans to cash this pick today, we need him to pitch five innings, which is something he has done in 14 of his 15 starts this season. He even faced the A’s already this season and he tossed seven shutout innings in that game. This feels like a must-play for me today.

This is a great matchup for Ryan with the Rays ranking 27th in wOBA, 29th in ISO and 26th in batting average against right-handed pitching.
