Shota Imanaga Sleeper Fantasy Pick: Less Than 1.5 Earned Runs

Yes, Imanga got hammered in his last outing, but the Brewers have been doing that to starting pitching all season and we were willing to take a shot given how elite Shota has been to start this season. 

With a tough outing behind him I look for much better results tonight against a Chicago White Sox lineup that ranks towards the bottom of the MLB in nearly all statistical categories against left-handed pitching this season. With his projection set at 1.5 earned runs, we’ve seen Imanaga give up fewer than this total in seven of his 10 starts this season.

 

 

 

Tyler Glasnow Sleeper Fantasy Pick: More Than 7.5 Strikeouts

On the surface, this is one of those where you don’t overthink it. Glasnow is an elite strikeout pitcher with a 33.2% strikeout rate and an 11.55 K/9 on the season.

Today, he faces a Pirates team that has the fifth highest strikeout rate against right-handed pitching this season. We’ve also seen Glasnow finish with more than 7.5 strikeouts in seven of his 12 starts this season which includes six of his last eight outings.

Bailey Ober Sleeper Fantasy Pick: More Than 2.5 Earned Runs

Honestly, I’m not sure why this number is only at 2.5 earned runs as Ober has an ERA approaching 5.00 and he’s given up five or more runs in two of his last three starts.

The Yankees offense is on fire right now, especially MVP candidates Juan Soto and Aaron Judge. Home runs have also been a problem for Ober this season and pitching in Yankee Stadium is a tough task for righties that have been giving up the long ball.
