Garrett Crochet MLB PrizePicks Fantasy Pick: More Than 1.5 Walks

As great of a pitcher as Crochet is, the command issues he’s shown recently point me towards him issuing at least two walks in this one. He walked four Blue Jays the last time he faced them and they happen to have the fourth-best walk rate (12-percent) against southpaws this season. They also don’t strike out much against lefties, so I’ll lean towards their plate discipline. It also helps that Crochet has walked at least two batters in four of his six starts this season.

 

 

Ryan Mountcastle MLB PrizePicks Fantasy Pick: More Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI

He may be ice-cold at the plate, but if we really thought he was going to sit in the tank the rest of the way, don’t you think PrizePicks would have made this pick a Demon? They did not. In fact, it’s just a regular pick so we’ll grab some value. It’s been a terrible start of the season for Mountcastle, but you’re talking about a guy with a career .280 average, .351 wOBA and .211 ISO against lefties and we all know that Carlos Rodon can be victimized by the long ball. Home runs and extra-base hits galore, though we’ll just play it safe here with the HRR pick. He also happens to see the ball well coming out of Rodon’s hands with three hits in his last five at-bats against him, one of which was a home run.
