Â
This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.
The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.
The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.
The stacks section will bring you are favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.
Tune into the MLB DFS Livestream at 5 PM ET to watch us break down today’s slate, give you last-minute advice, and answer any questions before locking in those lineups!

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers
Let's get into today's core pitching plays for our DFS lineups
Core MLB DFS Pitchers
Bryan Woo, Seattle Mariners
The all-star continues to pitch fantastic. He has gone at least 6 innings in all 20 starts this season, which is extraordinary. He also has at least 5 strikeouts in 17 of those 20 starts. He is easily my favorite pitcher on today’s slate going against the Braves. He has both the highest floor and the highest ceiling of anyone on today’s slate so it is hard not to run with him.Â
Nathan Eovaldi, Texas Rangers
I don’t like Nathan Eovaldi quite as much as Bryan Woo, but he is still a fantastic option at the top, and considering there aren’t a ton of other trustworthy options today, it might make sense to pay up for both of the top guys today. He has 26 strikeouts in 23.2 innings in 4 starts this month and has only given up 1 run over that stretch.Â
Will Warren, New York Yankees
Will Warren certainly doesn’t have as safe of a floor as Woo and Eovaldi but his upside is still pretty good. He has shown the strikeout upside with two double-digit strikeout games this season and he just struck out 7 in his last outing against the Phillies. Tampa Bay is a decent offense but not one you are running away from and I don’t mind taking a chance on Warren’s upside today.Â
Jose Soriano, Los Angeles Angels
Jose Soriano is another guy who has flashed the strikeout upside with some huge strikeout games, but it has not been consistent and his overall strikeout numbers aren’t great. The Rangers have also actually been very good against right-handers over the last month. He is definitely the pitcher I trust the least over these four, but if you need another pivot option, he still has the upside to potentially give you a solid outing.Â

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters
Let's check out today's core plays to build our lineups around.
Core MLB DFS Hitters
Freddie Freeman, Los Angeles Dodgers
This feels like a great price to jump in on Freddie Freeman in a decent matchup against Nick Martinez and in a great ballpark in Cincy. I know the production hasn’t been crazy recently, but this is Freddie Freeman, and the lower production means we get him at this lower pric,e and I trust him to continue to produce even if he isn’t a huge home run threat.Â
Xavier Edwards, 2B Miami Marlins
Always feels weird to pick a Marlin, but Xavier Edwards is fantastic, and the second base pool is weak. Most of the decent second base options are slumping right now, but not Edwards. He is slashing .323/.364/.462 over the last month, and I like the matchup against Mikolas.
Jose Ramirez, 3B Cleveland Guardians
If you are paying a high dollar for anyone today, it should be Jose Ramirez. He has been absolutely crushing from the right side of the plate, and Kyle Freeland has been getting crushed by righties, so this is an excellent matchup for J-Ram to continue to dominate. He is slashing .342/.410/.530 against lefties, and I don’t expect anything different today.Â
Randy Arozarena, OF Seattle Mariners
Randy Arozarena is another guy who is crushing lefties this year with a .284/.336/.532 slash line against them this season. He is also on a hot streak recently, with 10 homers in July; only Nick Kurtz and Kyle Schwarber have hit more this month. I have always been a fan of Springs, but he just hasn’t been that great this season, and I am not afraid to stack some Mariners against him today.Â
