This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you are favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

We have an interesting slate in terms of pitching options.  We have a good mix of pitchers on today’s slate.  Feel free to get creative especially on DraftKings where you need to start 2 pitchers.

High-end options include Cristopher Sanchez and Freddy Peralta.  The mid-range includes Shohei Ohtani and Kevin Gausman.  The lone paydown option for today is Luis Gil.

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Cristopher Sanchez, Philadelphia Phillies - DraftKings $8,700 | FanDuel $9,500

Sanchez has posted a quality start in 4 of his last 6 starts.  He enters Saturday with 2.50 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 212 Ks in 202 IP.

Sanchez enters this matchup against the Los Angeles Dodgers with hit or miss history against their hitters in the past.  He has two starts against the Dodgers during the 2025 season.  He put up 27 and 32 FanDuel points and 15.6 and 18 DraftKings points in those starts.  He had two starts against the Dodgers during the 2024 season.  He put up 31 and 37 FanDuel points and 15.9 and 19.9 DraftKings points in those starts.  Look for Cristopher Sanchez to offer some high end upside on Saturday.

Shohei Ohtani, Los Angeles Dodgers - DraftKings $8,000 | FanDuel $8,800

Ohtani is my favorite value option for today’s slate.  He enters Saturday with 2.87 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 62 Ks in 47 IP.

Ohtani enters this matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies with good but limited history against their hitters in the past.  He had one start against the Phillies during the 2025 season (5 no hit innings).  He put up 30 FanDuel points and 20.7 DraftKings points.  He did not pitch against the Phillies during the 2024 season.  Look for Shohei Ohtani to continue his success against the Phillies today.

Freddy Peralta, Milwaukee Brewers - DraftKings $8,300 | FanDuel $9,400

Peralta put together an excellent 2025 season.  He enters Saturday with 2.70 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 204 Ks in 176.2 IP.

Peralta enters this matchup against the Chicago Cubs with decent history against their hitters in the past.  He has four starts against the Cubs during the 2025 season.  He put up 46, 6, 30 and 49 FanDuel points and 27.1, -0.4, 18.3 and 28.5 DraftKings points in those starts.  He had three starts against the Cubs during the 2024 season.  He put up 52, 47 and 21 FanDuel points and 31.4, 29.8 and 9.3 DraftKings points in those starts.  Look for Freddy Peralta to continue his success against the Cubs today.

 

 

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

It is looking like a slate that will favor pitching today.  However, we have a couple matchups we will be targeting.  Feel free to mix and match your hitters across multiple lineups.

Milwaukee Brewers and Seattle Mariners should be the front runners in terms of top teams to stack.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Aaron Judge, New York Yankees - DraftKings $6,500 | FanDuel $4,600 

Judge put together another MVP caliber season.  He went 4 for 11 during the AL wildcard round.  He had 2 multi hit games and 0 HRs during that stretch. 

Judge has good history in the past against expected Toronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Kevin Gausman.  He is 17 for 48 with 6 HRs against Gausman in his career.  Aaron Judge looks like a solid one-of play or key piece of a New York Yankees stack for today’s slate.

Andrew Vaughn, Milwaukee Brewers - DraftKings $3,300 | FanDuel $2,900 

Vaughn has been a different hitter since joining the Brewers midseason.  He has at least one hit in 7 of his last 10 games.  He has 3 multi hit games and 0 HRs during that time span.

Vaughn has decent history against Matthew Boyd, the expected starting pitcher for the Chicago Cubs.  He is 3 for 12 with 1 HR against Boyd in his career.  Look for another strong performance out of Andrew Vaughn and the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday.

Kerry Carpenter, Detroit Tigers - DraftKings $3,900 | FanDuel $3,000 

Carpenter put together a solid 2025 season.  He went 4 for 10 during the AL Wildcard round.  He had 1 multi hit game and 0 HRs during that time span. 

Carpenter has good history in the past against Seattle Mariners expected starting pitcher George Kirby.  He is 4 for 8 with 4 HRs against Kirby in his career.  Kerry Carpenter looks like a solid one-of play for today’s slate.

Brice Turang, Milwaukee Brewers - DraftKings $4,000 | FanDuel $3,500 

Turang has been a key piece for the Brewers this season.  He is currently on a 4 game hitting streak.  He has 1 multi hit game and 0 HRs during this stretch.

Turang has good history against Chicago Cubs expected starting pitcher Matthew Boyd.  He is 2 for 7 against Boyd in his career.  Look for another strong performance out of Brice Turang and the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday.
