This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you are favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

We have an interesting slate in terms of pitching options.  There is a good mix of aces, solid mid-rotation arms and inexperienced pitchers on today’s slate.  Feel free to get creative especially on DraftKings where you need to start 2 pitchers.

High-end options include Tyler Glasnow and Spencer Strider.  The mid-range includes Michael King and Andrew Abbott.  Paydown options include Eduardo Rodriguez and Bubba Chandler.

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Spencer Strider, Atlanta Braves - DraftKings $9,000 | FanDuel $9,700

Strider has posted a quality start in 3 of his last 5 starts.  He enters Saturday with 4.45 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 126 Ks in 119.1 IP.

Strider enters this matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates with good but limited history against their hitters in the past.  He did not pitch against the Pirates during the 2024 season.  Look for Spencer Strider to continue his success against the Pirates on Saturday.

Michael King, San Diego Padres - DraftKings $8,900 | FanDuel $8,700

King posted his best start since returning from the IL.  He enters Saturday with 3.57 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 73 Ks in 70.2 IP.

King enters this matchup against the Arizona Diamondbacks with decent but limited history against their hitters in the past.  He had two starts against the Diamondbacks during the 2024 season.  He put up 36 and 37 FanDuel points and 21 and 19.9 DraftKings points.  Look for Michael King to continue his success against the Diamondbacks today.

Bubba Chandler, Pittsburgh Pirates - DraftKings $6,200 | FanDuel $8,600

Chandler is my favorite value play for today’s slate.  He enters Saturday with 4.56 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 25 Ks in 25.2 IP.

Chandler enters this matchup against the Atlanta Braves with no history against their hitters in the past.  Look for Bubba Chandler to offer high end upside at a reasonable price tag against the Braves on Saturday.

 

 

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

It is an interesting slate for hitters on Saturday.  We have a few favorable matchups on today's slate.  We also have a few inexperienced pitchers in Jacob Latz, Luis Morales, AJ Blubaugh and Caden Dana toeing the rubber.  Feel free to mix and match your hitters across multiple lineups.

Houston Astros, Los Angeles Angels, Cleveland Guardians and Texas Rangers should be the front runners in terms of top teams to stack.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Teoscar Hernandez, Los Angeles Dodgers - DraftKings $4,700 | FanDuel $3,500 

Hernandez has put together another solid season.  He is currently on a 5 game hitting streak.  He has 1 multi hit game and 1 HR during this stretch. 

Hernandez has good history in the past against expected Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert.  He is 5 for 11 with 1 HR against Gilbert in his career.  Teoscar Hernandez looks like a solid one-of play for today’s slate.

Jose Ramirez, Cleveland Guardians - DraftKings $5,900 | FanDuel $4,000 

Ramirez has put together another strong season.  He has at least one hit in 8 of his last 9 games.  He has 2 multi hit games and 2 HRs during that time span.

Ramirez has good history against Jacob Latz, the expected starting pitcher for the Texas Rangers.  He is 1 for 3 against Latz in his career.  Look for another strong performance out of Jose Ramirez and the Cleveland Guardians lineup on Saturday.

Taylor Ward, Los Angeles Angels - DraftKings $4,000 | FanDuel $3,400 

Ward has tapped into his power as of late.  He has at least one hit in 7 of his last 8 games.  He has 2 multi hit games and 5 HRs during that time span. 

Ward has no history in the past against Houston Astros expected starting pitcher AJ Blubaugh.  Taylor Ward looks like a solid one-of play or key piece of a Los Angeles Angels stack for today’s slate.

Salvador Perez, Kansas City Royals - DraftKings $4,200 | FanDuel $3,100 

Perez has been on fire lately.  He has at least one hit in 10 of his last 12 games.  He has 4 multi hit games and 5 HRs during this stretch.

Perez has no history against Sacramento Athletics expected starting pitcher Luis Morales.  Look for another strong performance out of Salvador Perez on Saturday.
