This season's MLB DFS picks and playbook will consist of a pitcher and hitter core players section with written analysis, player pool grid and core stacks section.

The core player section should be used as a starting point for all lineups, you may not be able to use all players in the same lineup, but those players should be the building blocks for you on a given night.

The player pool grid will feature both players from the core player section along with additional plays to help you build a complete lineup. The grid will be broken into top priced players, mid-priced players and value tier players.

The stacks section will bring you are favorite lineups stacks for the day and which players we would look to include in those stacks based on matchups and pricing.

Recommended MLB DFS Starting Pitchers

We have an interesting slate in terms of pitching options.  There are no true aces on today’s slate.  However, we have a handful of mid-rotation pitchers with upside.  Feel free to get creative especially on DraftKings where you need to start 2 pitchers.

There are no true high-end options on today’s slate.  The mid-range includes Noah Cameron, Blake Snell, Lucas Giolito and Jesus Luzardo.  Paydown options include Joey Cantillo, Colin Rea and Tobias Myers.

Core MLB DFS Pitchers

Noah Cameron, Kansas City Royals - DraftKings $8,900 | FanDuel $8,900

Cameron has put together a solid rookie season.  He enters Saturday with 2.08 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 72 Ks in 87.1 IP.

Cameron enters this matchup against the Minnesota Twins with good but limited history against their hitters in the past.  He has one start against the Twins during the 2025 season.  He put up 45 FanDuel points and 26 DraftKings points.  Look for Noah Cameron to continue his success against the Twins today.

Blake Snell, Los Angeles Dodgers - DraftKings $8,700 | FanDuel $10,000

Snell posted 8 Ks in his return from the IL.  He enters Saturday with 3.21 ERA, 1.63 WHIP and 12 Ks in 14 IP.  

Snell enters this matchup against the Toronto Blue Jays with decent but limited history against their hitters in the past.  He had one start against the Blue Jays during the 2024 season.  He put up 24 FanDuel points and 14.9 DraftKings points.  Look for Blake Snell to offer some solid upside at a reasonable price tag.

Joey Cantillo, Cleveland Guardians - DraftKings $7,700 | FanDuel $8,000

Cantillo is my favorite value option for today.  He enters Saturday with 4.39 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 107 Ks in 121 IP.

Cantillo enters this matchup against the Chicago White Sox with good but limited history against their hitters in the past.  He already has one start against the White Sox in 2025.  He put up 22 FanDuel points and 11.8 DraftKings points.  He had one start against the White Sox during the 2024 season.  He put up 58 FanDuel points and 36.5 DraftKings points.  Look for Joey Cantillo to continue his success against the White Sox today.

Lucas Giolito, Boston Red Sox - DraftKings $8,500 | FanDuel $8,700

Giolito has returned to his old form as of late.  He enters Saturday with 3.57 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 81 Ks in 95.2 IP.  

Giolito enters this matchup against the San Diego Padres with decent history against their hitters in the past.  He did not pitch against the Padres during the 2024 season.  Look for Lucas Giolito to continue his success against the Padres on Saturday.

 

 

Recommended MLB DFS Hitters

We have a lack of true aces pitching today which should favor the hitters.  Feel free to mix and match your hitters across multiple lineups.

Milwaukee Brewers, Arizona Diamondbacks, Colorado Rockies and Kansas City Royals should be the front runners in terms of top teams to stack.

Core MLB DFS Hitters

Bobby Witt, Kansas City Royals - DraftKings $6,200 | FanDuel $3,900 

Witt is putting together another strong season.  He is currently on a 5 game hitting streak.  He has 1 multi hit game and 1 HR during this stretch.

Witt has good history in the past against expected Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Bailey Ober.  He is 12 for 25 with 1 HR against Ober in his career.  Look for another strong performance out of Bobby Witt and the Kansas City Royals lineup on Saturday.

Tyler Freeman, Colorado Rockies - DraftKings $4,200 | FanDuel $2,700 

Freeman has had a breakout season in Colorado.  He has at least one hit in 10 of his last 11 games.  He has 2 multi hit games and 0 HRs during this time span. 

Freeman has good history in the past against Arizona Diamondbacks expected starting pitcher Eduardo Rodriguez.  He is 4 for 12 with 1 HR against Rodriguez in his career.  Tyler Freeman looks like a solid one-of play or key piece of a Colorado Rockies stack for today’s slate.

Ozzie Albies, Atlanta Braves - DraftKings $3,600

Albies has had an up and down season.  However, he has at least one hit in 7 of his last 10 games.  He has 2 multi hit games and 0 HRs during that time span.

Albies has good history against Sandy Alcantara, the expected starting pitcher for the Miami Marlins.  He is 13 for 39 with 2 HRs against Alcantara in his career.  Ozzie Albies looks like a solid one-of play for today’s slate.  Please note the Braves-Marlins game is only on the DraftKings main slate.

Salvador Perez, Kansas City Royals - DraftKings $4,200 | FanDuel $3,000 

Perez offers a safe floor in a favorable matchup today.  He has at least one hit in 8 of his last 10 games.  He has 1 multi hit game and 2 HRs during this stretch.

Perez has good history against Minnesota Twins expected starting pitcher Bailey Ober.  He is 8 for 25 with 2 HRs against Ober in his career.  Salvador Perez looks like a solid one-of play or key piece of a Kansas City Royals stack for today’s slate.

Ian Happ, Chicago Cubs - DraftKings $3,800 | FanDuel $3,100 

Happ has started to heat up lately.  He is currently on a 6 game hitting streak.  He has 1 multi hit game and 1 HR during this stretch.

Happ has good history in the past against expected St. Louis Cardianls starting pitcher Andre Pallante.  He is 5 for 12 against Pallante in his career.  Look for another strong performance out of Ian Happ and the Chicago Cubs lineup on Saturday.
