MLB Weather Today, 7/6
Astros vs Nationals - There is a lot of rain in the forecast that likely causes a delay. We'll check back here because it doesn't look great.
Mets vs Braves - There could definitely be a late start here.
Brewers vs Cardinals - There's a chance that there's one singular storm ends up causing this game to be delayed.
MLB DFS Lineup Picks: Starting Pitchers
MLB DFS Top Pitchers
Cam Schlittler (NYY)
Analysis: Cam Schlittler is an elite DFS anchor today. Beyond the surface-level baseline of that massive 29.7% strikeout rate and 2.08 ERA, his under-the-hood metrics confirm that his emergence as the Yankees' de facto ace is legit. He has a 35.0% chase rate ranking in the 90th percentile and a 27.5% whiff rate. The Rays are really good, but Schlittler is easily the best pure pitcher on the slate.
Kevin Gausman (TOR)
Analysis: When a pitcher has a 4.19 ERA but his ERA indicators are entirely uniform in the upper-3.60s to mid-3.70s (3.78 xERA, 3.74 xFIP, 3.71 SIERA), it tells you he has been on the wrong side of sequenced luck, defense. That's Kevin Gausman. Over the last three years (including this season), Oracle Park ranks 25th in park factor and is coming off a great start.
Landen Roupp (SF)
Analysis: The Blue Jays' offense is heavily compromised when facing right-handed pitching this season. Ranking 24th in OPS, wOBA, and wRC+ puts Landen Roupp firmly in play. Roupp has a 4.55 ERA but a .343 xERA, 3.6 xFIP, and 3.9 SIERA. He's pitching in his home ballpark where his numbers look REALLY good outside of bad luck he's run into.
MLB DFS Value Pitchers
Walker Buehler (SD)
Analysis: Remove his last start from his resume because he had to pitch in a hot, humid, wind game at Wrigley Field and that's just unfortunate for everyone involved. From May 20th to June 26th (9 starts), Buehler pitched to a 2.64 ERA, .239 BAA, 21.5% K-rate, and 3.64 xFIP. The Diamondbacks continue to rank last in most offensive categories against righties such as wOBA, ISO, and wRC+.
Griffin Jax (TB)
Analysis: Jax has 18+ DKP in four straight and 16+ in five straight and is pitching extremely well. He is riding this high into the best possible matchup he could be in considering how bad the Yankees offense has been. Over the last month, Yankees rank 24th in wOBA, OPS, and wRC+ against righties while striking out 25.3% of the time.
Eric Lauer (TOR)
Analysis: Lauer's been a good pitcher since arriving in LA and still hasn't lost in six outings (five starts) this year. He has a 2.88 ERA with the Dodgers and is 3-0. He still doesn't miss bats at an elite level BUT this spot is amazing. Colorado is the worst offense against lefties ranking 30th in wRC+ while striking out over 26% of the time.
Top Options For Strikeouts
K-prop lines and value ratings are incorporated below for DFS and prop context. These are the arms building the highest strikeout ceilings on the 9-game slate.
Our model identifies these arms as the highest-ceiling plays for Alt-K lines today:

Kevin Gausman: 23.9% K% (8.9 K/9)
Griffin Jax: 23.4% K% (8.7 K/9)
Best Odds For A Win
The following MLB DFS picks offer a combination of favorable win odds, sustainable ERA and xFIP metrics, and soft opponent matchups. Each carries K-prop lines worth noting alongside their DFS value at reduced ownership relative to the top tier.
- Eric Lauer +121
- Kevin Gausman +131
- Cam Schlittler +160
- Landen Roupp +175
MLB DFS Lineup Picks: Stacks & Hitters
MLB DFS Top Hitters
James Wood (OF, WAS) & Luis Garcia Jr. (1B, WAS)
Analysis: Lefties kill Mike Burrows and here are two of the better ones going right now. Lefties have a .317 AVG with a .569 SLG% and .414 wOBA against Burrows. Both Wood and Garcia have .285 ISOs against right-handers and 16 HR this year.
Yordan Alvarez (OF, HOU)
Analysis: He's been the best hitter in baseball. Period. It's simple. It's facing off against one of the worst pitchers in baseball in Miles Mikolas who's pitched to a 5.23 ERA this year.
Mookie Betts (SS, LAD) & Teoscar Hernandez (OF, LAD)
Analysis: Righties are decimating Kyle Freeland this year to a .274 ISO, .211 xISO, .415 wOBA, and .376 xwOBA clip. Betts is rollin' at the fish right now and has some elite underlying stats against lefties with a .209 xISO and .363 xwOBA. Hernandez has a long history against left-handed pitching and this year he has a .170 ISO and .352 wOBA.
Michael Harris (OF, ATL)
Analysis: Lefty power has been the primary issue that Freddy Peralta and Michael Harris is smashing right-handed pitching. He's averaged 1.73 HR/9 and a .476 SLG%. Harris has a .231 ISO, .298 xISO, .375 wOBA, and .415 xwOBA against righties this year.
MLB DFS Value Hitters
Isaac Paredes (3B, HOU) & Jose Altuve (2B, HOU)
Analysis: Miles Mikolas takes the mound tonight and he has had a serious right-handed issue. Righties have a .243 ISO, .221 xISO, .340 wOBA, and .328 xwOBA against Mikolas this year. Both Altuve and Paredes have .174 ISO's or higher and have been reverse splits themselves.
Daylen Lile (OF, WAS)
Analysis: Lile's had a really good season against right-handed pitching with a .213 ISO and .335 wOBA and faces off against a pitcher who specifically struggles against lefty bats. Advantage Lile.
A.J. Ewing (OF, NYM)
Analysis: The Mets have slotted Ewing in the leadoff slot recently and he's been really, really good against right-handed pitchers. He has a .117 ISO, .165 xISO, .347 wOBA, and .368 xwOBA against righties. Reynaldo Lopez has struggled with lefties, especially keeping them off the bases. Lefties have a near .360 OBP this year.
Sung-Mun Song (2B/3B, SD)
Analysis: Song was a really good bat in the KBO before coming over to the states and is turning it up of late. He has a .353/.476/.588 slash with a home run and four steals over that span. Lefties have a .286 ISO, .241 xISO, and .405 wOBA against Pfaadt.
MLB DFS Top Stacks
Primary Stack: Los Angeles Dodgers vs Kyle Freeland (COL LHP)
Why: The Dodgers have a slate-high 5.9 implied runs and gets an elite matchup against Kyle Freeland. Freeland has allowed 1.87 HR/9 this year and it's over 2.2 HR/9 to righties. Righties are the priority here but the Dodgers have elite lefties too.
Targets: Mookie Betts, Teoscar Hernandez, Andy Pages, Tommy Edman, Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman
Primary Stack: Washington Nationals vs Mike Burrows (WAS RHP)
Why: Mike Burrows has a lefty problem and the Nationals can throw a lot of lefties at Mike Burrows. See the problem burrowing here? Lefties are slashing .317/.392/.569 with a .414 wOBA and .252 ISO. The Nationals have elite lefties stepping up to the plate.
Targets: James Wood, Luis Garcia Jr., CJ Abrams, Daylen Lile, Jose Tena, Jorbit Vivas, Keibert Ruiz
“Contrarian” Stack: Houston Astros vs Miles Mikolas (HOU RHP)
Why: I like how well this matchup lines up for Houston. They have a LOT of right-handed hitters and that's been Mikolas' worse split. He struggles against both splits and Yordan Alvarez exists, so it really doesn't matter for him. Righties have a .243 ISO against him and lefties have a .179 ISO and .197 xISO.
Targets: Yordan Alvarez, Jose Altuve, Isaac Paredes, Christian Walker, Yainer Diaz, Cam Smith
"Contrarian" Stack: San Diego Padres vs Brandon Pfaadt (ARI RHP)
Why: The Padres offense just hasn't clicked yet but this is a matchup that could be incredibly fruitful. Pfaadt's return to the major league level was incredibly lucky. .133 BABIP, 5.48 xFIP, 100% LOB and only missed two bats over 5.1 innings. He's been bad in general as lefties have good numbers on the surface while righties have struggled mightily BUT underlying metrics suggest that will change.
Targets: Jackson Merrill, Fernando Tatis, Manny Machado, Sung-Mun Song, Gavin Sheets
MLB DFS Lineups: Core MLB DFS Hitters & Pitchers
| The "Chalk" (Popular) | The "Pivot" (Low Owned) | The Winning Logic |
| Jax (SP, chalk) | Lauer (SP, lower owned) | I like Jax, but there are deficiencies & Lauer has the best odds to win today at 1/2 the ownership. |
| Dodgers (Chalk) | Nationals (pivot stack) | I like the lefties for Washington as much as anyone else based on Mike Burrows' numbers vs. LHH. |
| Soto + Lindor (chalk) | Garcia + Lile (lower owned) | The Mets don't look bad, but the Nats at similar ownership look better. |
