You might be hard-pressed to find a hotter bat than Vargas’ at the moment. He’s slashing .360/.500/.740 over his last 14 games, but even more impressive, he’s slashing .450/.645/.700 over his last seven games! He carries a .971 OPS and .313 ISO against lefties into today’s matchup against Mackenzie Gore, and early reports have the weather blowing out this evening at Rate Field.

Texas’ Mackenzie Gore has a 5.42 ERA on the road this season, and home runs have been a bit of an issue against right-handed hitters (1.30 HR/9); again, there could be some wind blowing out tonight.
