Willson Contreras MLB ParlayPlay Fantasy Pick: More Than 1.5 Hits + Runs + RBI

The career-best season from Willson Contreras continues with his recent hot streak. The Boston Red Sox first baseman is hitting .298 with a .984 OPS over his past 14 games. He also brings in a .988 OPS since the All-Star break. Count on him to stay hot against the San Francisco Giants today. 

Carson Whisenhunt gets the start for San Fran. The left-hander carries a 7.03 ERA and 1.84 WHIP across seven starts this season. He’s also allowed at least four runs in four of his last five outings coming into this game. Whisenhunt is getting crushed by right-handed batters, allowing a .330 batting average and .946 OPS in the split. 

Those issues against righties are pretty glaring, and it benefits Contreras. He’s hitting .280 with a .979 OPS when facing left-handed pitching this year. He also boasts a .325 batting average and 1.030 OPS at home so far. Let’s lock in Contreras to rack up at least two combined hits, runs, and RBI in this matchup.

Blake Snell MLB ParlayPlay Fantasy Pick: More Than 7.5 Strikeouts

Blake Snell has been sharp in his first two starts since returning from the Injured List for the Los Angeles Dodgers. The left-hander struck out 10 batters in his first outing back, while giving up just one run on three hits. He followed that up by allowing two hits and one run in his second start, adding five more strikeouts. 

Snell has a great opportunity to keep the momentum going in Sunday’s home matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates. In particular, let’s bank on him to rack up strikeouts. Tarik Skubal just punched out 11 Pirates in yesterday’s game. Snell could also easily come close to that total. 

The Pirates have a 25.6% strikeout rate against left-handed pitching this season, the second-highest mark in the majors. That number has climbed to 26.6% in August. Plus, Pittsburgh is striking out at a league-high 28.6% rate on the road against lefties. 

As for Snell, his track record as a high-end strikeout pitcher speaks for itself. He’s posted strikeout rates of 28.3%, 34.7%, and 31.5% over the past three seasons. He also averaged 8.8 strikeouts over his final five home outings last year with Los Angeles before recording nine and seven strikeouts in his two home postseason starts.
