Hitters

Play of the Day: Mike Trout-- Trout went deep for the second straight game last night, and faces Cotton tonight, who has allowed at least two home runs in six of his last ten starts.  Trout has two hits in four of his last five games, while adding seven runs, five rbi’s, and five walks to just two K’s over those five games.

Top Play: Mookie Betts-- Betts and the Red Sox once again are expected to put up some runs tonight as they check in as the highest projected scoring team outside of the game at Coors.  Betts had his first XBH in nine games last night, which went for a homer.  Betts has four runs and six rbi’s over his last three games, and priced once again outside of the top ten OF’s on Y! tonight.

Value Play: Tim Beckham-- Beckham’s price and production has not changed since joining the O’s.   Beckham went deep last night, and is now 7-12 with three doubles, a triple, and a homer to start his stint with Baltimore.  Similar to last night, the O’s are projected for over five runs tonight.  Xander was a popular Y! Play last night, and in nice spot again at only $8.

Value Play: Chris Young--   Tough to ignore Boston tonight with some cheaper price tags in plus matchups.  Young should receive the start vs the lefty Rodon tonight.  He’s 2-7 with two walks vs him, but is just 4-24 over his last ten games.  Those four hits were a single, double, triple, and homer, and expecting plenty of opportunities tonight for Young.

Pitchers

Play of the Day: James Paxton --Paxton is coming off a perfect 6-0 July.  He had a 1.37 ERA, with a 46:6 K:BB ratio over those 39 ? innings.  Paxton as at least seven strikeouts in seven of his past eight starts, and hasn’t allowed more than two earned runs since June 27th.

Top Play: Yu Darvish- deGrom is very much in play, but like the $13 discount with Darvish.  The Dodgers are the favorites in this matchup, and despite Darvish losing five straight decisions, he left the A.L. in the top ten in both strikeouts and hits allowed this season.

Pivot Play:  Eduardo Rodriguez --  Porcello struggled vs the White Sox last night, but he has struggled all season.  Rodriguez is just 0-1, with a 6.75 ERA over his three starts since returning from the DL.  The good news is that he has 19 strikeouts over those 14 ? innings, and is 1-0, with a 3.38 ERA over five starts at Fenway this year.   Boston is the largest favorite of the slate.

GPP Play: Kevin Gausman--  Gausman was a pitcher that you could pick on last year, but is pitching like the O’s ace this season.  Gausman has won his last three starts, allowing just one run over those 20 ? innings, while recording eight strikeouts in all three games.
