Welcome to the Playbook for Thursday, April 7
 

We have a full Friday ahead of us and a lot of action around MLB. Five early games and then ten in the main slate. Arizona, Milwaukee and now Colorado will be hosting games, so we’ll certainly have to keep an eye on that. Mad Max Scherzer gets a start when mostly there are 4th and 5th starters on the hill. Should be a fun day around the league and DFS, let’s get ready for all of the action.

There are a few players that I didn’t do a full write-up on, but like for value plays and may make it into my Optimal Lineups. They include:

2B - Derek Dietrich (MIA) - Across the board value GPP play

3B - Trevor Plouffe (MIN) - FD Value

3B - Xandy Diaz (CLE) - Deep Y! Value

SS - Marcus Semien (OAK) - FD Value

SS - Andrelton Simmons (LAA) - Y! Value

Feel free to plug these guys in first for GPP plays (maybe some cash too for the better known established players) and see that money to spend on the big guns.
 

Weather Report

Weather seems to be calm (for once) and we should see all 15 games played today. I emphasize, “should”. We’ll keep an eye on the volatile April weather around the country and keep you up to date as we go along.

It is worth mentioning that the wind may be a factor in a couple of places as early reports have a 20+ MPH wind blowing out to right field in Philadelphia (ahem, Bryce Harper).

 

It's cold and dreary in Detroit today, a pitchers haven. Give a boost to Michael Fulmer and Steven Wright in early contests.
