Considering how much he has been used over the last week, expect the Indians to give him the day off on Tuesday. 38 PC-21 ST (8/12/13)Detroit Tigers(CL) Shaky Joaquin Benoit (R)–Recorded his 14th save of the season Wednesday despite allowing one run on two hits in the 14th inning. Benoit got himself into a serious jam, but was able to force one fly ball out while striking out two batters to secure the Tiger victory. 24 PC-17 ST (8/7/13) (SU) Jose Veras (R)--Took the loss on Sunday after allowing a game-winning home run in the ninth inning. Veras was one out away from taking the game into extra innings, when Brett Gardner hit a solo shot to win the game for the Yankees. 15 PC-9 ST (8/11/13) (MR) Bruce Rondon (R)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Monday night allowing one hit on only eighth pitches thrown. Rondon has been pitching well as of late, but will need to be used in hold situations before gaining any fantasy value in deep leagues. 8 PC-4 ST (8/12/13) Injured– Octavio Dotel (Shoulder)Houston Astros(CL) Committee Josh Fields (R)–Pitched 1.1 innings of relief on Monday allowing one hit while striking out one batter on 18 pitches thrown. Fields had allowed five runs over his last two appearances, so this was a nice bounce back outing from the Astros top closer candidate. 18 PC-12 ST (8/12/13) (CL) Committee Travis Blackley (L)--Failed to record an out in his appearance on Wednesday night after allowing one hit and one walk in the seventh inning. This was a terrible outing from Blackley, but he got lucky that his teammate Chia-Jen Lo got him off the hook. 12 PC-5 ST (8/7/13) (MR) Wesley Wright (L)--Failed to record an out in his appearance on Friday night allowing one hit and one walk before being pulled. This is the type of outing we have grown to see from Wright this season, but with little help around him, he should be with the team the remainder of the season. 13 PC-7 ST (8/9/13)Kansas City Royals(CL) Solid Greg Holland (R)–Recorded his 32nd save of the season Sunday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. Frieri has temporarily been removed from the closer role and will be used in lower leverage situations for the time being, so look for Dane De La Rosa to be used in the closer role for now. 9 PC-7 ST (8/10/13) (MR) Kevin Jepsen (R)--Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Sunday allowing one walk on 12 pitches thrown. Jepsen was used to get the final two outs of the seventh inning, after the Angels bullpen blew their lead, but it was too little too late in this contest. 12 PC-4 ST (8/11/13) Injured:  Ryan Madson (Elbow), Sean Burnett (Elbow)Minnesota Twins(CL) Solid Glen Perkins (L)–Pitched both ends of Friday's doubleheader allowing two runs in a non-save situation in Game 1 and earned his 28th save in Game 2. Considering he worked double time on Friday, expect him to get the day off and be back in the mix on Sunday. 21 PC-18 ST (8/9/13) (SU) Casey Fien (R)--Was used in the ninth inning on Sunday allowing two runs on two hits in a non-save situation . Luckily for Fien, the team had a big lead when he entered, so the two home runs he allowed didn't affect the final outcome. 23 PC-14 ST (8/11/13) (MR) Jared Burton (R)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Sunday retiring all three batters he faced in order. Burton needed only 10 pitches to work through the frame, forcing one fly ball out while striking out two batters to secure the Twins five run lead heading into the final frame. 23 PC-14 ST (8/11/13)New York Yankees(CL) Elite Mariano Rivera (R)–Picked up the win despite being charged with his fifth blown-save of the season, after allowing two home runs to tie the game in the ninth inning. Rivera has now blown three straight save chances and is really starting to show signs of his true age. 23 PC-16 ST (8/11/13) (SU) David Robertson (R)–Recorded his first save of the season Monday after recording the final two outs of the ninth inning. The Yankees gave Mariano Rivera the day off after blowing his third straight save Sunday, but expect Robertson to be back in his usual role on Tuesday. 22 PC-10 ST (8/12/13) (MR) Boone Logan (R)–Earned his seventh hold of the season Monday night despite allowing one run on one hit in the ninth inning. Logan needed seven pitches to work through the appearance, luckily for him David Robertson was able to seal the win after Logan gave up the run. 7 PC-6 ST (8/12/13)Oakland Athletics(CL) Elite Grant Balfour (R)–Recorded his 30th save of the season Sunday despite allowing one run on one hit and three walks in the ninth inning. Balfour got himself into a serious jam, but was able to limit the damage and escape with a two-run victory for the Athletics. 37 PC-18 ST (8/11/13) (SU) Ryan Cook (R)--Picked up the win on Monday despite being charged with a blown-save aver recording the final two outs of the eighth inning. Cook has now pitched three consecutive days, so expect him to get the night off on Tuesday. 8 PC-5 ST (8/12/13) (MR) Sean Doolittle (L)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Monday allowing one hit while striking out one batter on 15 pitches thrown. Doolittle has now pitched back-to-back days, so there is a chance he will be given the day off on Tuesday to keep him fresh for the playoff run. 15 PC-12 ST (8/12/13)Seattle Mariners(CL) Shaky Danny Farquhar (R)--Recorded his fourth save of the season Sunday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit while striking out one batter on 18 pitches thrown. The Cardinals were in desperate need of a win, so the fact Mujica was used to record the final six outs shows the team wasn't willing to use Trevor Rosenthal after his meltdown on Saturday. 30 PC-20 ST (8/11/13) (SU) Trevor Rosenthal (R)--Took the loss and was charged with his third blown-save of the season Saturday after surrendering three runs on two hits and two walks in the eighth inning. Rosenthal had been pitching well as of late, so hopefully this doesn't start a downward spiral. 33 PC-18 ST (8/10/13) (MR) Randy Choate (L)--Picked up the win on Sunday after recording the final out of the sixth inning. Choate threw only two pitches in the appearance, forcing the only batter he faced to fly out, in what was his third straight day taking the mound. 2 PC-2 ST (8/11/13) Injured– Jason Motte (Elbow), Fernando Salas (Shoulder)Washington Nationals(CL) Solid Rafael Soriano (R)--Recorded his 29th save of the season Saturday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. Soriano needed only nine pitches to work through the frame, forcing one ground ball out and one fly ball out while striking out one batter to get the job done. 9 PC-8 ST (8/10/13) (SU) Tyler Clippard (R)--Pitched 1.0 innings of relief on Saturday allowing one run on one hit while striking out one batter needed 11 pitches to work through the frame. Clippard allowed a solo home run in the appearance, but was able to forcing two fly ball outs while striking out one batter to keep the Nationals on top heading to the bottom half of the inning. 11 PC-7 ST (8/10/13) (MR) Ryan Mattheus (R)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Friday night retiring all three batters he faced in order on only six pitches thrown.
