DraftKings Recommended Lineup July 27, 2013 (Late Games)Ready to turn $5 into $50k? @DraftKings is giving you the chance now, and it’s through one-day fantasy baseball games http://bit.ly/17fdiMCAll lineups are based off of a $50,000 salary cap featured at DraftKings, you best option in daily fantasy sports gaming. Lineups consist of a two pitchers, one catcher, one first baseman, one second baseman, one third baseman, one shortstop and three outfielders. All scoring and contest rules for DraftKings contests can be found here.P: Madison Bumgarner (SF) vs. CHC--$11,100--The Giants ace of the staff gets a solid matchup on Saturday night going up against the mediocre Chicago Cubs lineup, that is now without one of there top power hitters in Alfonso Soriano. Bumgarner has pitched at least seven inning in seven straight starts, finishing with a 4-2 record over that time frame. The Cubs rank in the bottom half of the league in just about all hitting categories including 18th in runs scored and 21st in batting average, with the most important being their high strikeout totals against left-handed pitchers (251 on the season). As long as you can afford to spend the top money for Bumgarner he is worth starting over the other elite pitchers going today.P: Tom Koehler (MIA) vs. PIT--$5,000--After spending the big bucks on Madison Bumgarner it was time to find value for the second starting pitcher position. Koehler's record may not indicate it (2-5 on the season), but he has had much success as of late pitching for the lowly Marlins. Over his last four starts Koehler has allowing only eight earned-runs, with six of those coming between two contests. In his last appearance playing in Colorado, Koehler struck out seven batter while not allowing a walk, so if he can do it there he surely can handle him business in Miami. The Pirates are also known for striking out at a high clip, which will only benefit Koehler, so who is one fo the cheapest priced pitcher on the board today.C: Buster Posey (SF) vs. CHC--$4,100--With little to choose from at the catcher position tonight, I decided to play it safe and go with one of the most reliable catchers on the board. Posey has started the second half a bit slow, which is reflected in his price tag for tonight, going 1-for-10 over his last four games. He is matched up against the Cubs youngster Chris Rusin, who has not been very impressive in his first year in the Cubs rotation, so expect the Giants to take advantage of his mistakes, with Posey being one of the main beneficiaries.1B: Billy Butler (KC) @ CWS--$4,100--There aren't many hitters out there that can day they have had Chris Sale's number outside of Bully Butler. In 28 career at-bats against Sale, Butler has gone 9-for-28 with three home runs and eight RBIs, giving him a .321 batting average against the South Paw. Butler has also been hitting the ball well as of late, which only adds to his value for tonight's contests.2B: Dustin Pedroia (BOS) @ BAL--$4,900--Despite failing to produce much since signing his $100 million contract, Pedroia comes in as a solid play for tonight's contests. In his career against Scott Feldman, Pedroia has now 5-for-9 with one RBI, which is a good enough total for me to give him a look. Considering the other options at his position, he gives the most upside for his price tag, with other options being over priced in my opinion (Aaron Hill, Rickie Weeks, Josh Rutledge).SS: Elvis Andrus (TEX) @ CLE--$3,500--After spending a good portion of my cap space on pitching, I needed to find a good value play at shortstop. Andrus is having a down year, but has put up decent numbers against Justin Masteron in his career. In 10 career at-bats against Masterson, Andrus is 5-for-10 with one RBI, one walk and two stolen bases. With the other options being priced too high for me to consider, Andrus fits the bill.3B: Manny Machado (BAL) vs. BOS--$4,500--The Orioles youngster continues to show why he was one of the top prospects in all of baseball prior to his promotion late last season and tonight is a good time to capitalize on his skill set. Machado is 3-for-10 lifetime against Ryan Dempster, which doesn't look that impressive, but to of those hits are doubles, which has been his calling card thus far in his career. Like most hitters out there, when he gets hot he is hard to get out, and appears to be primed for another one of those steaks after hitting a home run on Friday night.OF: Adam Jones (BAL) vs, BOS--$5,200--Like his teammate Manny Machado, Jones has a nice matchup tonight going up against Ryan Dempster, who he is 4-for-9 against in his career. Jones is coming off of a two home run performance on Friday night and has now recorded three multi-hit games since returning from the All Star break. TO add to his current success, Jones is hitting .315 against right-handed pitchers on the season, which justifies why he is one of the top priced options for tonight.OF: Andre Ethier (LAD) vs. CIN--$4,000--There haven't been many hitters hotter than Ethier since the All Star break, and there should be no reason for him to slow down tonight. Over his last five games Ethier has recorded three multi-hit games, with five doubles one home run and five RBIs. While he may not be one of the best options for tonight, he faces off against Bronson Arroyo, who pitches much better at home then when playing on the road.OF: Christian Yelich (MIA) vs. PIT--$3,500--I needed an extremely cheap option to round out my outfield so usually that means either a young player or an underachieving veteran. I decided to go with the Marlins youngster, who was just called up earlier this week. Yelich has looked goo at the plate thus far, and with any muck will be able to continue that tonight. He has been striking out at a high clip through his first few games, but strikeouts are not reflected negatively at DraftKings, so as long as you can look past that give him a look.Total Salary: $49,900Always pay close attention to the weather!
