DraftKings Recommended Lineup July 6, 2013 (Late Games)Ready to turn $5 into $50k? @DraftKings is giving you the chance now, and it’s through one-day fantasy baseball games http://bit.ly/17fdiMCAll lineups are based off of a $50,000 salary cap featured at DraftKings, you best option in daily fantasy sports gaming. Lineups consist of a two pitchers, one catcher, one first baseman, one second baseman, one third baseman, one shortstop and three outfielders. All scoring and contest rules for DraftKings contests can be found here.P: Yu Darvish (TEX) vs. HOU--$13,000--The Rangers have to be pleased with the way Yu Darvish has pitched this season, and tonight he should only add onto his great first half. Through two starts against the Astros this season Darvish is 2-0 with a 1.72 ERA, while striking out 22 batters over 15.2 innings of work. The Astros as a lead all of baseball in strikeouts, including a whopping 584 against right-handed opposition. Considering two points are awarded to for each strikeout in the DraftKings format, it is a no-brainer to spend the big buck on Darvish tonight, as long as you can find value at the hitter positions.P: Stephen Fife (LAD) @ SF--$6,700--If you didn't already know, Stephen Fife has pitched very well for the Dodger this season having allowed only four-plus runs once through seven 2013 starts. He faced off against the Giants tonight, who he pitched well against in late June (3 ER, 4 H, 1 BB, 5 K), and the fact that the team is slumping right now makes him even more attractive. The Giants has scored only five runs in their last four games, including a blowout loss to the Dodgers on Friday night. While I don't think he will go the distance in this one, I feel he can pitch good enough to warrant a start, making room to keep Yu Darvish on the roster.C: Mike Napoli (BOS) @ LAA--$4,200--There aren't many quality catchers for tonight's contests, but Mike Napoli's matchup with Jerome Williams caught my eye. In 14 career at-bats against Williams, Napoli has logged six hits, including a double, triple and two home runs. Plus, Napoli is very familiar with the Angels ballpark, having played there through the first few years of his career. The majority of Napoli's production has come against right-handed opposition (9 HR 49 RBI), so he is worth a shot tonight knowing that money needs to be saved to support my Yu Darvish decision.1B: Albert Pujols (LAA) vs. BOS--$4,100--Albert Pujols has been a major disappointment for most of the season thus far, but tonight's matchup should make prospective owners take notice. Pujols is 21-for-60 lifetime against Red Sox starts Ryan Dempster, including eight home runs and 17 RBIs. Although batter versus pitcher stats are sometimes used the wrong way, the fact that it is such a large sample size it is hard ti ignore the facts. Considering some of the top tier players at his position (Paul Goldscmidt, David Ortiz, Freddie Freeman) Pjuols is the cheapest by far, making him worth starting tonight despite the sluggish start.2B: Dan Uggla (ATL) @ PHI--$3,500--After a sluggish start to the season, Dan Uggla's price has dropped significantly since April, falling below the $4k-mark making him a value play whenever used in daily contests. Uggla has had success against Phillies starter Kyle Kendrick, going 11-for-35 with one one run and five RBIs. Not including this year's totals, Uggla has hit 10 doubles and six home runs at Citizens Bank Park since 2010, making it one his favorite ballparks to play in. He is a very streaky player, so the fact that he went 2-for-4 last night should put the icing on the cake for those who are considering him for tonight's contests.SS: Jose Iglesias (BOS) @ LAA--$2,700--Despite a great start since being recalled from the minors, Jose Iglesias is not getting much love in daily fantasy circles as he continues to be under priced across most daily sites, including DraftKings. Iglesias has recorded as least one hit in eight on his last 10 games, including four multi-hit games over that span. Through his first 93 at-bats against right-handers, Iglesias is hitting .398 with eight extra base hits, including one home run and nine RBIs. I expect this game to be high scoring, so expect him to outproduce is extremely cheap price tag once again tonight.3B: Evan Longoria (TB) vs. CWS--$3,900--After missing some time last weekend with a foot injury, Longoria returned to the lineup but has had little success as of late. His price tag has dropped below $4k, making him a very attractive player no matter who the opposition is. Longoria will have his work cut out for him tonight going up against White Sox Starter Chris Sale, but he owns left-handed pitchers, hitting .369 through 84 at-bats against South Paws. Again, the theme of this week's article is to find value in hitting due to Yu Darvish's price tag, so he is a perfect fit for what I am trying to accomplish.OF: Justin Upton (ATL) @ PHI--$5,500--Another Braves' hitter going up against Kyle Kendrick here, as Justin Upton is 4-for-9 against him in his career with two home runs. Upton has cooled off considerably after his fast start to the season, but is due to break out of the funk. Over the course of his young career Upton has hit well at Citizens Bank Park, having gone 11-for-32 since 2010. I know it is a big time gamble to use him tonight coming in as one of the highest priced outfielders on the board, but I am confident he at least produce enough to live up to his high price tag.OF: Shane Victorino (PHI) @ LAA--$3,300--The Red Sox have now witnessed what  Shane Victorino can do when healthy, as he has really started to heat up since his return from his most recent injury. Although his splits don't show much success against right-handed pitchers, sometimes you have to just go with your gut and ride a hot hitter. As mentioned earlier, I feel this is going to be a high scoring game, so any Red Sox hitter is worth having in your lineup for tonight's contests.OF: J.B. Shuck (LAA) vs. BOS--$2,900--With Peter Bourjos on the disabled list once again, J.B. Shuck has now stepped in as the leadoff hitter for the Angels and is once again producing atop the order. Shuck as recorded at least one hit in eight of his last 10 games including three multi-hit games. Although he hits better against left-handed pitchers, Shuch is still sporting a .277 batting average against right-handers through 130 at-bats. He is one of the cheapest outfielders on the board tonight, and we know he is going to get the at-bats, so he is worth a shot.Total Salary: $49,800Always pay close attention to the weather!
