Chicago Cubs

Listen, I’m not trying to be mean here, but Lucas Giolito is not a good pitcher. There is really no other way to put it. He comes into to this game giving up a .396 wOBA to left-handed hitters and a .339 wOBA to righties. Those are some truly rough numbers and exactly the type of pitcher you want to pick on. He has given up three or more earned runs in six of his seven starts this season. Giolito is also struggling with the walks, as he has a 10.7% walk rate, which is fourth worst on the slate. He is getting himself into trouble with the walks, and then the hitters are punishing him. The Cubs have won five games in a row, and looking to close out the windy city series with a sweep. With numbers like that, you can roster either righties or lefties. If you have the salary, look to Kris Bryant , Anthony Rizzo , Kyle Schwarber , and Willson Contreras .

Pittsburgh Pirates

The Pirates are up against Derek Holland , who is a perennial gas can when it comes to MLB DFS, meaning you can pick on him anytime he is on the slate. Last season Holland gave up a .408 wOBA to right-handed hitters and a .313 wOBA to lefties. The bad numbers don’t stop there, he gave up 1.44 HR/9 to lefties and 2.26 HR/9 to righties. That is a rough stat line to see if you are Giants fan, as the Pirates should be scoring plenty of runs today. The Pirates are an easy team to stack up since their most expensive player is only $4K on FanDuel and $4,4K on DraftKings. Starling Marte is a player you should be looking at since he has a .407 ISO vs left-handed pitchers this season. They have an implied run total of 4.48, so if Vegas is predicting they are going to be scoring some runs, you should want to be on them as well.

Houston Astros

Astros will likely be a popular option on today’s slate since they are up against Matt Moore , who is on a very rough slide right now. He has given up 15 earned runs in his last two starts and has given up three or more in six of his seven starts this season. That should tell you enough, along with the fact they come in with an implied run total sitting at 5.53, which is second highest on the slate. When it comes to the Astros, the only question is what kind of salary you have to spend on their players. If George Springer is out again due to his injury, you can get some savings from Derek Fisher or Josh Reddick . Moore is giving up a .390 wOBA or higher to both lefties and righties, so you can pick and choose whoever you need to stack in your lineup.
