DFS Stacks Thursday July 6th

Houston Astros vs Francisco Liriano

Jose Altuve, George Springer, Evan Gattis, Yulieski Gurriel, Marwin Gonzalez, Carlos Correa

The enigma that is Francisco Liriano toes the rubber on Thursday against one of the hottest hitting teams in all of baseball in the Houston Astros.  Liriano is just 4-4 with a 5.66 ERA while owning a 4.70 FIP, 4.98 xFIP and a 5.02 SIERA.  As a team the Astros hold the third best batting average against southpaws in baseball and their OPS against LHP is the best in the majors.

Washington Nationals vs Michael Foltynewicz

Bryce Harper, Daniel Murphy, Matt Wieters, Adam Lind, Brian Goodwin

Braves starter Mike Foltynewicz has pitched well of late which includes a near no-hitter in his last start but the Nationals lineup possess some real problems for Folty.  In their last meeting the Nationals tagged him for eight earned runs on 11 hits over 3.1 innings.  Struggles against southpaws have been the undoing for Foltynewicz so far in his short career and this season LHH are hitting .305 with an OPS of .849 compared to the .218 average and .660 OPS RHH have against him.  A solid stack of using the Nationals LHH against Foltynewicz should lead to a solid night in DFS.

Minnesota Twins vs Dylan Bundy

Miguel Sano, Brian Dozier, Max Kepler, Eddie Rosario

Bundy got off to a strong start this season but those who pay attention to sabermetrics saw that he was due for some serious regression and that tide has finally started to turn.  Since the start of June Bundy is 2-4 with a 6.61 ERA, 6.76 FIX and a 4.67 SIERA.  Bundy is giving up 40-percent hard contact during this stretch and a 21.3-percent HR/FB rate.

San Diego Padres vs Josh Tomlin

Wil Myers, Hunter Renfroe, Manny Margot, Cory Spangenberg, Jose Pirela

Tomlin is having a miserable season for the Indians, going 4-9 with a 6.17 ERA.  At home this season things have been even worse as he owns a 6.55 ERA over 45.1 innings.  Tomlin is allowing a .347 batting average against at home this season and has given up 10 of his 17 home runs when pitching at Progressive Field.  The Padres will come to town and have the benefit of using a DH which will strengthen their lineup a bit.
