Happy 4th, everyone. Have fun and stay safe.

Due to the holiday, we’ve got a lot of day baseball and a lot of different start times. Only FanDuel has contests that include the 11:05 A.M. ET game between Milwaukee and Washington. Those contests are their all-day contests which are a weak selection of contests, so we’ll be ignoring the MIL@WAS game in today’s Playbook.

Fantasy Aces is not offering any all-day contests, so DraftKings is the only site where you should consider playing an all-day contest. Given that DK has late swap, that’s the only place you’d want to play an all-day contest anyway.  Since DK is the only spot to play all-day contests, players from the four night games will only be mentioned to the extent they have relevancy on DK for the all-day slate.

The focus of the Playbook (and the Optimal Lineups) will be on the larger afternoon slates. DK and Aces are offering a 10-game afternoon slate starting at 1:10 A.M. ET with the Angels @ Rays game. The FD afternoon contests ignore that game and start at 1:35 A.M. ET with the Rangers @ Red Sox game.

As far as weather goes, the games in St. Louis and Philadelphia could see rain, though as of this writing it doesn't seem like anything serious. Postponements don't seem likely, and the worst case scenario might be a rain delay affecting pitchers. Keep an eye on those games closer to lock.

If you need additional options for a given slate, please consult the DFS Rankings.

All players are listed according to their FD positional eligibility. Any mention of a player's wRC+ against left- or right-handed pitching or their xFIP or fly ball rate against left- or right-handed hitting is since since the beginning of 2015.
