Not only do we have a short slate on a Thursday, but it’s split as well. I took the liberty of dividing up the data sheet with the hope that it would make things easier for you. Here’s a look at what we’ve got for today.

Noah Syndergaard, NYM – He’s the top gun on the board and while the Diamondbacks have been hitting well as of late, they’re still at league-average against right-handers. Thor’s talent transcends the numbers and should have any difficulty with any of Arizona’s lefty bats.

Chris Tillman, BAL – The A’s are absolutely atrocious right now with a .247 wOBA and just a .127 ISo over the past week. Throw in the 21.4-percent strikeout rate and you’ve got a great pick in Tillman.

Jameson Taillon, PIT – It’s a risk here, but despite the fact that the Padres have been beating up on some pitchers lately, they still have just .294 wOBA with a 24.4-percent strikeout rate against right-handers this season. The Padres have been posting a 43.7-percent ground ball rate over the past week which plays right into Taillon’s hands.

Braden Shipley, ARI – It seems unlikely that he’ll earn the win opposite Syndergaard, but he’s still capable of tossing a strong game as the Mets bats are ice cold right now. They’re posting just a horrific .249 wOBA over the past week and that comes with a 23.6-percent K-rate.

Corey Kluber, CLE – The Angels have been sitting at league average against righties all year and have steadily gotten worse recently. They’re posting a .262 wOBA with just a .127 ISO over the past seven days. It should be interesting to see how Kluber’s K-rate matches with the Halos who don’t strike out too often, but he should still be worth the price tag.

Jon Lester, CHC – He hasn’t faced the Cardinals all season but you have to have confidence in him and his 1.99 home ERA over 68 innings. Not to mention, the Cardinals struggle against lefties this year – a 24th-ranked .310 wOBA – and have just a .309 wOBA with a .134 ISO over the past week.

Danny Duffy, KC – He’s been absolute money this year and it’s absolutely surprising. But the fact that he’s allowed just three runs or less in 12 of his last 13 starts is pretty darn impressive. The White Sox have been fanning 22.4-percent of the time against southpaws this season, so look for Duffy to continue building his K-rate.

Eduardo Rodriguez, BOS – His career numbers against the Yankees have been solid and he’s faced them once this year and held them to one run over seven innings. While the new-look Yanks are hitting the ball fairly well, we’re still looking at a team that struggles to hit lefties consistently and has a 25th-ranked .309 wOBA against them.
