                                                                                DBacks 1B Paul Goldschmidt

Hitters

Bryce Harper-LF Nationals
On his first swing, in his return from the disabled list, Bryce Harper went yard. Harper finished Monday's win over the Brewers 1-for-4 with the solo-home run and a walk.
Paul Goldschmidt-1B Diamondbacks
Paul Goldschmidt is the first Diamondbacks first baseman with two seasons of at least 20 home runs after going 1-for-6 with a solo-home run, his 20th of the season, in Monday's 13 inning loss to the Mets.
Josh Satin-1B Mets
Mets first baseman Josh Satin continues to hit going 3-for-6 with with a double, an RBI, a run scored, and a walk. Satin extended his hit streak to seven games and has reached base in 12 consecutive games. Josh Satin is hitting .395 (15-for-38) with six doubles, five RBI, seven runs scored, and nine walks to seven strikeouts since being recalled on June 12th. Satin's solid play means that Ike Davis will continue to spend his time in Triple-A Las Vegas for the time being. (Davis is hitting .290 with five home runs in 18 games for Vegas).
Aaron Hicks-OF Twins
Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said the team is likely to recall outfielder Aaron Hicks from Triple-A Rochester to replace the injured Josh Willingham (knee). Aaron Hicks had been rehabbing from a hamstring injury at Triple-A Rochester where his struggles to hit continued going just 4-for-21 (.190) with just one extra-base hit in six games. The switch-hitting Hicks' struggles have come mostly against right-handed pitching as he was just 23-for-150 (.153) in his time with the Twins this season compared to 11-for-40 (.275) versus left-handed pitching.
Jose Reyes-SS Blue Jays
Jose Reyes went 3-for-5 with a solo home run in the Jays win over the Tigers Monday afternoon. Reyes is now hitting .280 (7-for-25) with two home runs, five runs scored, and four RBI since returning from the disabled list on June 26th. Reyes has yet to attempt a stolen base, but that will surely change as the Jays gain more confidence in his health.
Pitchers
Jose Fernandez-P Marlins
Jose Fernandez became the 3rd pitcher age 20 or younger with 10 strikeouts and a max of two hits and one walk (Kerry Wood, Dwight Gooden). Fernandez has steadily improved as the season has progressed. Fernandez posted a 3.78 ERA with a 2.48 K/BB ratio for the first two months of the season. From June on, Fernandez has a 1.67 ERA with a 3.5 K/BB rate...ACE!
Matt Moore-SP Rays
Matt Moore pitched seven shutout innings Monday allowing just two hits, three walks, and struck out nine in the Rays 12-0 win over the Astros. Moore has now won his last three starts despite continuing to struggle with his command Moore has walked 12 batters over his last three starts (19.1 innings) and nine in his last two starts (13 innings). Now may be the time to put Moore back up on your trading block to see what you can get for him as he is likely to continue struggling with his command while seeing some regression in his recent spike in strikeout totals (20 K's in 13 innings pitched).
R.A. Dickey-SP Blue Jays
R.A. Dickey won for the third time in his last four starts holding the Tigers to two runs on six hits, one walk, and struck out four as the Jays won their seventh straight home game Monday. After battling inconsistency for most of the first three months of the season Dickey seems to have righted the ship, at least over his last two games having allowed only two runs in his last 16 innings, including a complete game shutout of the Rays in his last start.
Jordan Zimmermann-SP Nationals
Jordan Zimmermann became the first National League pitcher to reach 12 wins with his victory over Brewers on Monday. Zimmermann did not have his best stuff allowing four runs on nine hits, two home runs, no walks, and five strikeouts over six innings, but the Nats gave him plenty of run support in their 10-5 victory.
