Hunter has been struggling as of late, but has now pitched back-to-back solid outings, so it appears he has turned things around. 8 PC-4 ST (7/28/13) (MR) Darren O’Day (R)--Took the loss on Wednesday night after surrendering one run on two hits between the eighth and ninth inning. O'Day falls to 5-1 following this appearance, but has been pitching well as of late, so expect him to bounce back his next time out. 18 PC-15 ST (7/24/13)Boston Red Sox(CL) Solid Koji Uehara (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Monday night in a non-save situation retiring all three batters he faced in order. Uehara threw only seven pitches in the appearance forcing one ground ball out and one fly ball out while striking out one batter to keep the Red Sox within striking distance. 7 PC-5 ST (7/29/13) (SU) Junichi Tazawa (R)--Earned his 17th hold of the season Tuesday after pitching 1.1 innings of scoreless relief. Tazawa has had his ups and downs this season, with Tuesday'd performance being one of his better outings, retiring all four batters he faced, with three strikeouts. 20 PC-16 ST (7/23/13) (MR) Matt Thornton (L)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Sunday allowing one hit while striking out one batter on 11 pitches thrown. This was Thornton's first appearance since Wednesday so expect to see much more of him int eh upcoming days. 11 PC-7 ST (7/28/13) Injured--Joel Hanrahan (Forearm), Andrew Bailey (Shoulder)Chicago White Sox(CL) Solid Addison Reed (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Sunday in a non-save situation retiring all three batters he faced in order. Reed needed only 11 pitches to work through the appearance, forcing two fly ball outs while striking out one batter to keep the game tied heading into the bottom of the ninth inning. 11 PC-9 ST (7/28/13) (SU) Matt Lindstrom (R)--Recorded the first out of the seventh inning on Monday night needing only one out to force the only batter he faced to ground out. Considering his high pitch count, expect Jones to get the day off on Monday. 38 PC-27 ST (7/28/13)Cleveland Indians(CL) Solid Chris Perez (R)--Picked up the win on Monday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning in a non-save situation allowing one hit on 10 pitches thrown. Perez improved to 3-1 after this performance and continues to look sharp after returning from his shoulder injury. 10 PC-7 ST (7/29/13) (SU) Joe Smith (R)--Was charged with a blown-save on Friday night after surrendering two runs on two hits in the eighth inning. After a great first half of the season, Smith has now allowed three runs in both of his appearances in the second half, so maybe the extra time off was detrimental. 18 PC-13 ST (7/26/13) (MR) Vinny Pestano (R)--Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Sunday in a non-save situation allowing one walk on 13 pitches thrown. Pestano entered with a big lead, so it was much less of a pressure situation than he is used to pitching in, which made it a great time to use him considering his recent struggles. 13 PC-6 ST (7/28/13)Detroit Tigers(CL) Solid Joaquin Benoit (R)–Recorded his 10th save of the season Friday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit while striking out one batter on only 11 pitches thrown. Holland has now pitched back-to-back days, but with a scheduled day off on Monday expect to see him available for the team's next game. 14 PC-9 ST (7/28/13) (SU) Aaron Crow (R)–Picked up the win on Sunday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. Choate has only pitched 1.1 innings of relief since last Saturday, so expect him to be used more often over the next few days. 7 PC-6 ST (7/26/13) Injured– Jason Motte (Elbow), Fernando Salas (Shoulder)Washington Nationals(CL) Solid Rafael Soriano (R)--Picked up the win in Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader after pitching a scoreless ninth inning in a non-save situation. Soriano bounced back nicely from a terrible outings on Thursday, but will likely get the day off on Saturday after pitching consecutive days. 24 PC-11 ST (7/26/13) (SU) Tyler Clippard (R)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning in Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader allowing one hit on only nine pitches thrown. Clippard has separated himself from Drew Storen, who has been struggling lately, so expect him to continue to be used in the setup role moving forward. 9 PC-7 ST (7/26/13) (MR) Drew Storen (R)--Pitched 0.2 innings of relief in Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader surrendering three runs on three hits in the final frame.
