This was his first outing since last Saturday, so expect to see much more from him over the next few days. 11 PC-8 ST (8/1/13) (MR) Marc Rzepczynski (L)Detroit Tigers(CL) Shaky Joaquin Benoit (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Tuesday night in a non-save situation allowing one hit on 11 pitches thrown. Benoit will continue to be the team's closer despite the acquisition of Jose Veras, but his leash is now shorter if he was to experience a slump. 11 PC-6 ST (7/30/13) (SU) Jose Veras (R)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Tuesday night retiring all three batters he faced in order. Veras made a great first impression on his new team, but will have limited fantasy value unless Joaquin Benoit falters. 14 PC-9 ST (7/30/13) (MR) Bruce Rondon (R)--Pitched one inning of relief on Sunday allowing one run on two hits in the eighth inning. Rondon has now given up an earned-run in three straight appearances, so hopefully he can turn things around before the team decides to go in a another direction in the setup role. 17 PC-13 ST (7/28/13) Injured– Octavio Dotel (Shoulder)Houston Astros(CL) Committee Jose Cisnero (R)--Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday in a non-save situation allowing two hits while striking out one batter on 17 pitches thrown. This was his first appearance in the ninth inning since the trade of Jose Veras, which is a sign that he may be the first reliever to get a chance to close. 17 PC-12 ST (7/31/13) (CL) Committee Travis Blackley (L)--Pitched 1.1 innings of relief on Thursday allowing one run on two hits needing 14 pitches to get through the appearance. Blackley is expected to be in the ninth inning mix, but this type of performance definitely doesn't help his cause. 14 PC-10 ST (8/1/13) (CL) Committee Wesley Wright (L)–Pitched 1.2 innings of relief on Tuesday night allowing one hit while striking out one batter on 21 pitches thrown. Perkins needed 10 pitches to work through the frame, forcing three ground ball outs in his first appearance since last Friday. 10 PC-7 ST (7/31/13) (SU) Casey Fien (R)--Pitched 0.1 innings of relief on Wednesday night allowing two hits on 17 pitches thrown. Fien got himself into trouble, but was able to force one ground ball out to end the seventh inning threat. 17 PC-13 ST (7/31/13) (MR) Jared Burton (R)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Wednesday night striking out the side on 18 pitches thrown. Burton has been pitching well as of late, following a bad few weeks, so maybe he will be used in the setup role once again if his recent success continues. 18 PC-13 ST (7/31/13)New York Yankees(CL) Elite Mariano Rivera (R)–Recorded his 34th save of the season on Wednesday night after pitching a 1-2-3 ninth inning. Rivera struck out two batters while forcing one ground ball out on 12 pitches thrown to continue his great farewell tour. 12 PC-10 ST (7/31/13) (SU) David Robertson (R)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Tuesday night retiring all three batters he faced in order. Robertson needed only nine pitches to work through the appearance forcing two ground ball outs while striking out one batter to get the job done. 9 PC-7 ST (7/30/13) (MR) Boone Logan (R)–Picked up the win on Wednesday night after pitching a scoreless eighth inning allowing one hit and one walk on 17 pitches thrown. This was Logan's first appearance since Sunday, so expect to see him used more in this weekend's series with the Padres. 17 PC-7 ST (7/31/13)Oakland Athletics(CL) Elite Grant Balfour (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday in a non-save situation striking out the side on only 12 pitches thrown. Balfour continues to dominate the ninth inning despite blowing his first save of the season a week ago, having recorded five strike outs over his last three appearances. 12 PC-10 ST (7/31/13) (SU) Ryan Cook (R)--Pitched 1.1 innings of relief on Wednesday allowing one hit while striking out one batter on 12 pitches thrown. Cook has done a great job between the seventh and eighth innings for the Athletics as of late, showing the ability to work in any situation. 12 PC-9 ST (7/31/13) (MR) Sean Doolittle (L)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Wednesday retiring both batters he faced in order on eight pitches thrown. Wilhelmsen was walking the line over his last few appearances allowing plenty of base runners, so an outing like this was bound to happen. 19 PC-7 ST (8/1/13) (SU) Oliver Perez (L)--Took the loss on Thursday night after recording only one out in the ninth inning. Perez allowed two runs on two hits in the appearance and has now pitched back-to-back days so he will likely be given the day off on Friday. 7 PC-6 ST (8/1/13) (MR)  Charlie Furbush (L)--Was used in the eighth inning on Thursday night allowing one run on one hit and one walk on 16 pitches thrown. Furbush has now pitched back-to-back days, so there is a good chance he will be given the day off on Friday. 16 PC-12 ST (8/1/13) Injured–Stephen Pryor (back)Tampa Bay Rays(CL) Solid Fernando Rodney (R)–Collected his 26th save of the season Monday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit and one walk on 23 pitches thrown. Rodney got himself into a jam, but was able to keep his composure and work around two base runners to help the Rays take over the lead in the AL East. 23 PC-14 ST (7/29/13) (SU) Joel Peralta (R)–Picked up his 27th hold of the season Monday night after recording the final two outs of the eighth inning. Peralta got himself into trouble by allowing two base runners, but was able to work his way through it to secure the Rays lead heading to the ninth inning. 9 PC-8 ST (7/29/13) (MR) Jake McGee (L)--Pitched 0.1 innings of relief on Wednesday night allowing one hit on nine pitches thrown. Mujica has now recorded three saves over the last five days, as he continues to get plenty of save chances for the Cardinals. 14 P-10 ST (7/25/13) (SU) Trevor Rosenthal (R)--Took the loss on Wednesday after allowing one run on two hits in the eighth inning. Rosenthal has now pitched back-to-back days, so expect the Cardinals to give him the day off on Thursday. 13 PC-8 ST (7/31/13) (MR) Randy Choate (L)--Pitched 0.1 innings of relief in Game 1 of Tuesday's doubleheader forcing the only batter he faced to ground out on five pitches thrown. Choate bounced back nicely from a rough outing on Saturday, and considering he threw only five pitches, he may be used in Game 2 if needed. 5 PC-2 ST (7/30/13) Injured– Jason Motte (Elbow), Fernando Salas (Shoulder)Washington Nationals(CL) Solid Rafael Soriano (R)--Picked up the win in Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader after pitching a scoreless ninth inning in a non-save situation. Soriano bounced back nicely from a terrible outings on Thursday, but will likely get the day off on Saturday after pitching consecutive days. 24 PC-11 ST (7/26/13) (SU) Tyler Clippard (R)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning in Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader allowing one hit on only nine pitches thrown. Clippard has separated himself from Drew Storen, who has been struggling lately, so expect him to continue to be used in the setup role moving forward. 9 PC-7 ST (7/26/13) (MR) Ryan Mattheus (R)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Wednesday allowing one hit and one walk on 14 pitches thrown.
