After allowing three runs over his previous two appearances, O'Day was able to get back on track in this one, so hopefully he will be able to continue trending in the right direction. 18 PC-14 ST (6/27/13) (MR) Brian Matusz (L)--Pitched 0.1 innings of relief on Thursday needing only four pitches to force the only batter he faced to fly out to end the seventh inning. Tazawa has now pitched back-to-back days, so there is a chance he will be given the night off on Friday. 10 PC-6 ST (6/27/13)(MR) Andrew Bailey (R)--Was charged with his fifth blown-save of the season Friday night after allowing one run on one hit in the seventh inning. Bailey continues to struggle coming out of the Red Sox bullpen, and if he continues down this path, there is a chance he won't be on the roster much longer. 11 PC-8 ST (6/28/13) Injured--Joel Hanrahan (Forearm)Chicago White Sox(CL) Solid Addison Reed (R)–Took the loss and was charged with his fourth blown-save of the season Friday night after surrendering four runs on four hits in the ninth inning. Reed has now blown three saves in his last six appearance, and if he continues down this road, we may see Jesse Crain take over the closer role before season's end. 31 PC-19 ST (6/28/13) (SU) Jesse Crain (R)–Earned his 19th hold of the season Friday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning allowing two hits on 19 pitches thrown. Considering how poorly Addison Reed pitched on Friday, there is a good chance Crain will be used in the closer role on Saturday to give him an extra day to clear his head. 19 PC-11 ST (6/28/13) (MR) Matt Thornton (L)–Picked up his 16th hold of the season Sunday after pitching a scoreless seventh inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. Thornton needed 15 pitches to work through the frame, forcing two ground ball outs while striking out one batter to get the job done. 15 PC-10 ST (6/23/13)Cleveland Indians(CL) Solid Chris Perez (R)--Pitched a scoreless ninth inning in Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader in a non-save situation retiring the side in order. This was Perez's first appearance off the disabled list and there has been no word as to how the team is planning on using him early on. 11 PC-7 ST (6/28/13) (SU) Vinny Pestano (R)--Recorded his sixth save of the season in Game 2 of Friday's doubleheader after pitching a scoreless ninth inning. With Chris Perez pitching in Game 1, the Indians didn't want him pitching again so Pestano sealed the sweep of the day for the Indians. 17 PC-9 ST (6/28/13) (MR) Joe Smith (R)--Pitched a scoreless seventh inning in Game 1 of Friday's doubleheader allowing one walk while striking out one batter on 16 pitches thrown. Smith has been used in three of the team's last five contests, so there is a chance he will be given the day off on Saturday. 16 PC-9 ST (6/28/13)Detroit Tigers(CL) Shaky Joaquin Benoit (R)–Recorded his fifth save of the season Friday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit while striking out two batters on 14 pitches thrown. Benoit has now pitched back-to-back days, so expect himto be unavailable out of the Tigers bullpen on Saturday. 14 PC-12 ST (6/28/13) (SU) Phil Coke (L)--Took the loss on Thursday after surrendering two runs on three hits and one walk in the 10th inning. Coke recorded just one out before being pulled in favor of Luke Putkonen, who was able to escape the 10th inning without allowing the Angels to score any more runs. 20 PC-11 ST (6/27/13) (MR) Al Alburquerque (R)--Earned his fifth hold of the season Friday night after pitching 0.2 innings of scoreless relief allowing one walk while striking out two batters. Alburquerque has now pitched three consecutive days so expect him to get the day off on Saturday. 19 PC-10 ST (6/28/13) Injured– Octavio Dotel (Shoulder)Houston Astros(CL) Solid Jose Veras (R)–Recorded his 16th save of the season Wednesday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one batter on 14 pitches thrown. Quietly, Veras has really picked up his production as of late, and has now earned seven saves out of his last 10 appearances.  14 PC-8 ST (6/26/13) (SU) Hector Ambriz (R)--Recorded the final out of the ninth inning on Friday night needing 22 pitches to get the job done. Ambriz allowed one hit and one walk while striking out one batter in what was his second appearance this week. 22 PC-11 ST (6/28/13) (MR) Wesley Wright (L)–Picked up his seventh hold of the season Wednesday after striking out the only batter he faced to end the seventh inning. Wright threw only four pitches in the appearance, so expect him to be available, if needed, on Thursday. 4 PC-3 ST (6/26/13)Kansas City Royals(CL) Solid Greg Holland (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday in a non-save situation striking out the side on 11 pitches thrown. Holland has been one of the best closers in the American League for most of the season, and has now lowered his earned-run average to 1.86 through 29.0 innings pitched. 11 PC-9 ST (6/26/13) (SU) Aaron Crow (R)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Friday night retiring both batter she faced in order on eight pitches thrown. With the demotion of Kelvin Herrera, Crow will settle back into the setup role for the Royals, making him a solid pickup in holds leagues. 8 PC-4 ST (6/28/13) (MR) Tim Collins (L)--Pitched 0.2 innings of scoreless relief on Friday night allowing one walk on 11 pitches thrown. Collins was needed to record the final two outs of the seventh inning, which he did without letting the Twins break into the Royals six-run lead. 11 PC-5 ST (6/28/13)Los Angeles Angels(CL) Solid Ernesto Frieri (R)–Earned his 20th save of the season Friday night despite allowing one run on one hit and one walk in the ninth inning. Jepsen has now pitched three consecutive days and will likely be unavailable out of the Angels bullpen on Saturday. 22 PC-13 ST (6/28/13) (SU) Scott Downs (L)–Pitched 0.1 innings of relief on Thursday allowing one hit on only nine pitches thrown. Downs has now pitched consecutive days, but his pitch counts  have been low, so he will likely be available Friday for the Angels series opener with the Astros. 9 PC-5 ST (6/27/13) Injured:  Ryan Madson (Elbow), Sean Burnett (Elbow)Minnesota Twins(CL) Solid Glen Perkins (L)–Recorded his 20th save of the season Thursday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit and one walk while striking out one batter on 20 pitches thrown. It wasn't the best showing from Perkins, but he was able to escape a tight jam to seal the victory for the Twins. 20 PC-12 ST (6/27/13) (SU) Jared Burton (R)–Picked up his 15th hold of the season Thursday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning allowing one hit while striking out one batter on 13 pitches thrown. This was Burton's first appearance since Sunday, so expect to see much more of him in the upcoming days. 13 PC-10 ST (6/27/13) (MR) Casey Fien (R)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Wednesday retiring all three batters he faced in order. Fien needed only 12 pitches to work through the frame, forcing two ground ball outs while striking out one batter to get the job done. 12 PC-9 ST (6/26/13)New York Yankees(CL) Elite Mariano Rivera (R)–Picked up the win on Tuesday after pitching a scoreless ninth inning in a non-save situation allowing one hit on 11 pitches thrown. Rivera entered the game with a tied score, and after Tanner Scheppers' allowed a walk-off home run, Rivera ended up with the win. 11 PC-10 ST (6/25/13) (SU) David Robertson (R)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Tuesday in a non-save situation allowing one hit and one walk on 16 pitches thrown. Robertson got himself into a jam, but was able to force two ground ball outs to keep the game deadlocked at three runs a piece. 16 PC-9 ST (6/25/13) (MR) Boone Logan (R)–Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Wednesday retiring both batters he faced via strikeouts. Logan threw only nine pitches in the appearance, so he should be available Thursday despite pitching consecutive days. 9 PC-8 ST (6/26/13)Oakland Athletics(CL) Solid Grant Balfour (R)–Took the loss on Sunday after surrendering three runs on two hits in the 10th inning. Balfour entered the game in a non-save situation, which seems to be the downfall for many closers this season, and allowed a home run to Kendrys Morales to end the game. 13 PC-8 ST (6/23/13) (SU) Ryan Cook (R)--Pitched a scoreless seventh inning on Tuesday night retiring all three batters he faced in order. Cook only needed 11 pitches to work through the frame, forcing two ground ball outs while striking out one batter to keep the Athletics on top. 11 PC-9 ST (6/25/13) (MR) Sean Doolittle (L)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Tuesday night allowing two hits while striking out one batter on 12 pitches thrown. Doolittle got himself into ajam, but was able to forcing one ground ball out and one fly ball out to secure the lead heading into the ninth inning. 12 PC-9 ST (6/25/13)Seattle Mariners(CL) Committee Oliver Perez (L)--Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Friday night in a non-save situation striking out the side on 14 pitches thrown. Perez has really starting to click in his new role out of the bullpen, and is worth adding in fantasy leagues until Tom Wilhelmsen is ready to return to the closer role. 14 PC-11 ST (6/28/13) (CL) Committee Carter Capps (R)–Pitched two innings of relief on Tuesday night allowing two run son three hits while striking out four batter on 30 pitches thrown. Capps continues to struggle with his command and will now likely get the day off Wednesday after recording a high pitch count in this contest. 30 PC-20 ST (6/25/13) (SU)  Tom Wilhelmsen (R)--Pitched 0.2 innings of scoreless relief on Wednesday retiring both batters he faced in order. Wilhelmsen needed only eight pitches to work through the frame, forcing two fly ball outs to make it through his second straight scoreless relief appearance. 8 PC-5 ST (6/26/13) Injured–Stephen Pryor (back)Tampa Bay Rays(CL) Shaky Fernando Rodney (R)–Collected his 16th save Monday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning allowing one hit while striking out two batters on 20 pitches thrown. Rodney has now pitched back-to-back days, so there is a chance he will be given the night off on Tuesday. 20 PC-13 ST (6/24/13) (SU) Joel Peralta (R)–Earned his 19th hold of the season Sunday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. Peralta made it through the inning with ease, forcing three fly ball outs on 11 pitches thrown to get the job done. 11 PC-7 ST (6/23/13) (MR) Jake McGee (L)–Picked up his 14th hold of the season Tuesday night after pitching a scoreless seventh inning allowing one walk on 20  pitches thrown. This was Frasor's first appearance since last Thursday, so expect to see much more of him in the upcoming days. 15 PC-10 ST (6/28/13) Injured– Joakim Soria (Elbow)Toronto Blue Jays(CL) Solid Casey Janssen (R)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Friday night allowing one hit on 11 pitches thrown. Fantasy owners should not be alarmed by the fact he was used outside of the ninth inning, as the Blue Jays probably just wanted him to get some work in after almost a week off. 11 PC-8 ST (6/28/13) (SU) Steve Delabar (R)–Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Thursday night allowing one hit while striking out two batters on 18 pitches thrown. Putz only a few rehab outings away form returning to the Diamondbacks bullpen. 11 PC-8 ST (6/27/13) (SU) David Hernandez (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Thursday in a non-save situation retiring all three batters he faced in order. Hernandez looked sharp in this appearance, striking out the side on 18 pitches, and has now recorded five strikeouts over his last 2.0 innings of relief. 18 PC-11 ST (6/27/13) (MR) Tony Sipp (L)--Pitched 0.1 innings of relief on Friday night allowing one hit on six pitches thrown. This was Sipp's first appearance since Tuesday, so expect to see much more from him over the next few days. 6 PC-4 ST (6/28/13) Injured: J.J. Rodriguez forcing two fly ball outs while striking out one batter to get the job done in a meaningless inning, but the fact he was used after Jim Henderson indicates his stay in the closer role may not be over just yet. 11 PC-10 ST (6/27/13) (MR) John Axford (R)–Pitched a scoreless ninth inning on Wednesday night in a non-save situation allowing one hit on only seven pitches thrown. Axford has been pitching very well over the last month of the season, and has now lowered his earned-run average to 4.09, which is great compared to where he was just one month ago. 7 PC-4 ST (6/26/13)New York Mets(CL) Solid Bobby Parnell (R)–Took the loss on Friday night after allowing two runs on two hits in the ninth inning. Parnell has now pitched three consecutive days, so expect him to be unavailable out of the Mets bullpen on Saturday. 21 PC-15 ST (6/28/13) (SU) Brandon Lyon (R)–Failed to record an out in his appearance on Friday allowing one run on one hit and one walk in the eighth inning. Lyon threw only eight pitches in the outing so expect to see him be used in the closer role on Saturday with Bobby Parnell likely unavailable. 8 PC-3 ST (6/28/13) (MR) LaTroy Hawkins (R)--Picked up the win on Thursday after pitching a scoreless seventh inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. The Pirates wanted to give Jason Grilli an extra day off, electing to turn to Melancon in the ninth inning, which turned out just the same as if Grilli was in the nail down the ninth inning. 17 PC-12 ST (6/26/13) (MR) Tony Watson (L)--Pitched a scoreless eighth inning on Tuesday night retiring all three batters he faced in order. Once again, ,Watson got the job done for the Pirates, forcing two ground ball outs and one fly ball out on 13 pitches thrown. 13 PC-8 ST (6/25/13)San Diego Padres(CL) Solid Huston Street (R)--Pitched a scoreless 12th inning on Wednesday night in a non-save situation allowing one hit on 11 pitches thrown. Romo has been striking out a lot of batters over his last few appearances, raising his total to six strikeouts in his last 3.2 innings of work. 20 PC-15 ST (6/22/13) (SU) Jeremy Affeldt (L)--Pitched 0.2 innings of relief on Saturday allowing one hit on only nine pitches thrown. Affeldt had allowed three runs in his previous two games, so it was nice to see him bounce back in this contest. 9 PC-5 ST (6/22/13) (MR) Javier Lopez (L)--Recorded the final out of the seventh inning in his appearance on Wednesday night needing only one pitch to get the job done. Lopez has now been used four of the last six days, but should be available Thursday considering his low pitch counts over those contests. 1 PC-1 ST (6/26/13) Injured--Santiago Casilla (Knee)St. Louis Cardinals(CL) Elite Edward Mujica (R)–Was used in a non-save situation on Tuesday night allowing two hits and one walk in 0.2 innings of relief. Mujica was quickly removed from the contest after clearly not having his best stuff, but as we know, some pitcher are just better in save situations. 18 PC-11 ST (6/25/13) (SU) Trevor Rosenthal (R)--Pitched 0.1 innings of relief on Sunday allowing one hit while striking out one batter on 17 pitches thrown. Rosenthal was used to get the final out of the seventh inning, and was able to do so, just not in a ordering fashion. 17 PC-11 ST (6/23/13) (MR) Randy Choate (L)--Pitched 1.1 innings of relief on Sunday retiring all four batters he faced in order. Choate struck out two batters in the appearance while forcing two ground ball outs to get the job done. 15 PC-11 ST (6/23/13) Injured– Jason Motte (Elbow), Fernando Salas (Shoulder)Washington Nationals(CL) Solid Rafael Soriano (R)--Pitched a scoreless 10th inning on Thursday in a non-save situation allowing one walk on 13 pitches thrown. Soriano has now pitched three straight days, so he will likely be unavailable on Friday. 13 PC-7 ST (6/27/13) (SU) Drew Storen (R)--Earned his second save of the season Friday night after pitching a scoreless ninth inning retiring all three batters he faced in order. Storen needed only nine pitches to work through the inning forcing two ground ball outs and one fly ball out to get the job done. 9 PC-6 ST (6/28/13) (SU) Tyler Clippard (R)–Picked up the win on Friday after pitching a scoreless eighth inning allowing one walk on 19 pitches thrown.
