Another week in the books with Boom Fantasy and boy, do we love it as much as ever! This week, I took to the rest of the Fantasy Alarm faithful to see what they’ve thought of Boom thus far. Tonight, Thursday May 11 is a big night at Boom Fantasy as Fantasy Alarm is running a “Beat Howard Bender” contest. We know….the thought of crushing the man, the myth, the legend in a competitive game of DFS has us all chomping at the bit. Let’s jump right in!
As I was saying, the “Beat Howard Bender” contest is going down TONIGHT! It’s only $3 to buy in and if you take home first-place you can 15x your buy in! The max-entry cap is set at three so you don’t have to stop at just one. Here’s the link à https://boom5.boomfantasy.com/pregame-submit-questions/PktQFCjsjm3KwQck2 so be sure to get in ASAP! It will be awesome listening to Howard use excuses as to why he came in last place on air! It’s primarily an NBA contest but something Boom Fantasy does which is very different is their cross-sport questionnaire. One of the questions in this
I didn’t ask everyone, but I did talk to three of my co-workers here at Fantasy Alarm in Jon Impemba, Matt Selz and Dan Malin. All three of them have been playing on Boom fairly religiously of late so who better to ask! All three of them responded exactly how I expected – nothing but positive feedback. First I asked my trusted DFS confidant Jon Impemba. He said, “Boom is a fun alternative to traditional fantasy sports. It adds a new level of engagement with players and games you may not traditionally follow.” I thought that was the perfect sentiment because as I’ve harped on the past few weeks, the simple questionnaire format allows you a chance to compete with the field no matter how knowledgeable you are in whichever sport you’re playing.
Next I asked Dan and Matt. “Boom Fantasy is the quickest and easiest way to play DFS. You have to worry about saving salary or roster construction. All you have to do is answer a few quick questions and you’re set for the slate”, Dan said. Which is an interesting point that I haven’t even thought of. I’ve touched on roster construction before, but not the salary. Its such a relief not having to make players fit within the cap space you’re allowed. Matt was last, but as I previously mentioned, he had nothing but great things to say; “I’ve really enjoyed playing it because it is much more plug-and-play friendly, where it takes some research but not as much as DraftKings, FanDuel, etc. The creativity of some of the questions is nice because it gives cross-sport appeal to playing PGA and NASCAR by involving other sports in the questions.”
The sentiments of all three guys are exactly what I’ve been harping on since I’ve started playing at Boom and putting together these weekly articles. With that said, DO NOT miss the opportunity to take down Howard Bender in our contest over on Boom TONIGHT!
