Ben Brown Chalkboard Fantasy MLB Pick: More Than 4.5 Strikeouts (1.64x)

This number is low. Very low. It’s low because Brown misses a LOT of bats. He has a 10.6 K/9 and a 26.3% K-rate and has more than 4.5 strikeouts in four straight games, 13 of his 15 outings this year. He faces a Cardinals offense that has struggled mightily over the last month, posting a .668 OPS, which is the fourth-worst mark in baseball. They’ve also struck out 22.6% of the time during that span. Brown is definitely live to rack up a bunch of strikeouts, which is why he’s one of my favorite MLB Chalkboard Fantasy picks of the day.

 

 


 

Mike Trout Chalkboard Fantasy MLB Pick: More Than 1.5 Hits+Runs+RBI (1.62x)

Right-handed power has given Walker Buehler fits this year and he has not figured out how to get them out. He faces an Angels offense featuring a LOT of righties, including Mike Trout. Buehler has allowed 2.4 HR/9, .263 ISO, .209 xISO, and a 26.9% HR/FB to righties and has a good home run park to pitch in. Trout faces off Buehler tonight and he has some great surface level stuff and REALLY good underlying numbers. He has a .238 ISO and .350 wOBA and .323 xISO and .419 xwOBA against right-handed hurlers.
