Diamondbacks vs. Rockies Predictions: Sunday, May 17th

It’s the last game on this Sunday of this National League West series and the Diamondbacks have their eyes on a potential sweep! While I think their chances are good against a struggling Michael Lorenzen, I am going to pivot to some other wagers here today. 

The first of which is a complete fade of the Rockies pitcher today. Lorenzen at home this season has an ERA of 9.64 over 18.2 innings pitched and opposing batters are ringing up a .416 batting average! Those kinds of numbers are a special kind of awful and overall, on the season he’s allowing an xwOBA of .373. This means it's wheels up for the Arizona offense especially one with some many left-handed or switch hitters in which Lorenzen is allowing a 1.229 OPS against this season. The Diamondbacks have 13 runs in the series so far so give me them to go over their team total prop of 5.5 today to wrap up the series. 

In addition to the runs, I love the spot for Corbin Carroll today as he’s been heating up over the past week with an OBP of .519 and .992 OPS. He has six hits, five runs and an RBI over his past 19 at bats and with Lorenzen struggling against the lefties, I see a big day coming for the Arizona star.
